This was a very nice hotel. We stayed there with a group of people from San Diego. The room was very comfortable, the staff very professional and courteous and, even though it was in the middle of the French Quarter, it was very quiet.

This hotel is centre to all the fun of Bourbon Street. Don't be worried about outside noise because once inside you can't hear a thing. A jazz bar inside the hotel and a fantastic connecting restaurant makes it one of the most ideal places to stay to experience the real New Orleans

This was our first stay at the Royal Sonesta. The location is great, with all of the French Quarter an easy walk from the hotel. We had a nice room on the concierge (seventh) floor. It was quiet and included a very nice breakfast as well as evening hors d'oeuvres and daily snacks in a private lounge on the same...

This was my first trip back to New Orleans since Hurricane Katrina. I had no preconceived expectations. This was a business trip and I had low expectations for fun and relaxation. At 12 midnight the shuttle put me off on the corner of Bourbon Street and I stood in awe. If there ever was a Katrina, she was long gone....

I stayed at the Royal Sonesta in May 2015, to celebrate my spouse's 30th birthday. Ahead of time, the customer service received from the hotel was great - the reservations team was in touch with me, and had arranged for champagne, and the concierge recommended a great deal of things to do while we were in New Orleans. When we...

From the moment we walked into the elegant lobby, we were surrounded by the quiet oasis the the Royal Sonesta provides. Bourbon Street and it's rowdiness are just outside, but you would never know it. The gentleman that checked us in gave us the choice of a Bourbon Street room, side street or court yard room. We chose side street...

Let the good times roll indeed! Had a wonderful stay at the Royal Sonesta. Staff was friendly, and it's on Bourbon Street, so there is always something to do. Near enough to main streets for walking, and sightseeing. I will return to New Orleans.

We arrived at the hotel around 11:45pm this past Thursday evening. Ashley assisted us checking in. She was very nice and professional. Upon entering our room, we noticed the noise level (afterall, you are in the heart of Bourbon St). However, it sounded like Bourbon St. was in our room. I called for the operator and spoke with Alexandria. I...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
