Wow! What a fantastic location right in the middle of Burbon street. Terrific little Jazz bar and coffee shop right on site. We stayed in a room that was off the main Burbon street drag and we were really greatful that we did. The party really does go on all night. $75 dog fee for entire stay. Parking at $40

Prior reviews of this hotel had me wondering when it was chosen for a business meeting that my wife and I were attending. There was nothing to worry about. We found the hotel, amazingly clean and nice considering it's a fairly old building. We learned that it will be closed for remodeling after Jazz Fest this year. I'm not really...

We have been going to the French Quarter for many years and have stayed here (several times) before and also tried other hotels. Our vote is now without a doubt the Royal Sonesta is the best place to stay in the French Quarter. The location puts you walking distance to everything, including catching the streetcar. The property is meticulously kept,...

There is nothing bad I can say about this hotel; it's our favorite place to stay in New Orleans. European charm, fantastic service and wonderful amenities. We enjoy having a balcony room so that we can people-watch during our stay. The staff here is well-trained and professional, yet still very warm and friendly. They're eager to help you in any...

My husband and I stayed at the Royal Sonesta Hotel New Orleans for a long weekend. It is direct on Bourbon Street. However, our room faced the beautiful hotel courtyard, and we did not encounter noise from Bourbon Street. From our room, we had direct access to the pool area - just a few steps away! We could not have...

The Royal Sonesta epitomizes what's so wonderful about New Orleans. The staff is friendly and helpful. The Mayfield Jazz Playhouse sets the mood perfectly. The pool area is nice, except for the food service. They give you a phone at the bar to call room service, who then delivers it poolside. A very strange set-up for a hotel that charges...

We switched from the Hyatt French Quarter over to this hotel for our last night in NOLA. Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
