We booked the Internet special for several nights. The room did not have any view, but that was expected since it was the cheapest room. The room had plenty of room, a closet for clothes, wireless internet access and spacious bathroom. Downstairs, the Carousel Bar was a treat. We were able to get four seats Wednesday afternoon and enjoyed the...

I'm not a posh traveler I guess. I try to get value out of money but my wife booked this place as a surprise so I have no idea how much it cost until now. If money is not an issue i guess then this place may be the place for you. I finally found out what "southern hospitality" means....

Best location, clean french provincial style rooms, walking distance to everywhere you want to be downtown in the Verre Carre. Love the Carousel bar and you must try the famous Sazerac once in your life.

This hotel treats you like a VIP. Check in was easy, the bellman was great, and full of information. We had an issue with our in-room fridge - turned out it was a wine cooler (!) and the maintenance guys fixed it in a flash. We had two double beds, and I believe that made the room a little larger....

This was our second trip to NOLA and ever since having a drink at the Carousel Bar two years prior, we had wanted to stay at Hotel Monteleone. From start to finish, we had an amazing visit. The location, the food, the service, the level of detail were all spot-on. True southern hospitality at its best. Can't wait to stay...

we love New Orleans and have used this hotel several times in the past. Hotels in New Orleans have become quite pricey in the last few years as more people return. The staff here were wonderful, the room on the 12th floor had a wonderful view and was elegant, especially for an old hotel with smaller rooms. Although the hotel...

Loved staying at this beautiful hotel. The rooms are not particularly large but it is right in the center of everything. It was Christmas time and the place looked amazing. It was very crowded especially at the Carousel bar which took a long time to get even a spot there. The holiday parties also added to the crowd. I'd avoid...

This is a beautiful property in a perfect location, but there were a few major issues. It all started at check-in: we made our reservations a few months in advance, and specifically requested an East-facing Executive Suite, on the 14th floor, with a view of the river -- that was a selectable option at the time. Unfortunately between the time...

We really enjoyed our stay here. The lobby was beautiful and the location was perfect. The carousel bar was also a treat, and we had a wonderful breakfast in the hotel restaurant. You absolutely must stay on one of the higher floors, especially if you have children because the noise from the lobby and bar is very loud. We were...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
