We stayed at the Hotel Monteleone several times for Mardi Gras between 2000 and 2004. We found that the staff was still as friendly and helpful as ever going far above what you would expect from a normal hotel staff to make your stay as wonderful as possible. Our bellman at check-in was someone that had helped us when we...

Located in the heart of the French Quarter, the Monteleone is elegant, historic, and charming. The beds were divine and we never heard a peep of street noise. Rooms are small, but perfectly appointed. The spa "Aria" was a lovely break from the noise and activity of the Quarter. Walking distance to anything and everything makes this hotel a perfect...

The Carousel Bar was a treat - really revolves. Nice rooms, great shower, comfortable bed with down pillows, great location, friendly staff, especially Earl in the parking garage. We didn't have to wait at all for our vehicle. Lobby was really bustling, a little noisy however the rooms were not. Great hotel for groups.

This is a wonderful hotel. The mattress was heavenly. I want the same for my home now. Everyone was professional and friendly. Steven Taylor was our valet and he retrieved our car very quickly and was very polite. The carousel bar was beautiful. It was very popular too. Can't wait to stay again !

The hotel was nice. The rooms was very small, but clean. There is no turn down service or lighted magnifying mirror. There is now water in the room for free or purchase. The bell service was awful. Two bellman stood there watching us carry our luggage up the entry steps, check-in and then offered to help us take our bag...

Stayed at the hotel with my mom for a mother/daughter weekend. She was absolutely in love with the hotel, great staff and service. Fun bar and lovely pool. Did not eat at the hotel so cannot comment on that. The rooms were on the smaller size, but fine with me since we were only there for a short period of...

Was very excited to be staying at Hotel Monteleone during Mardi Gras this year. We could only get to enjoy the Carosel Bar once because it is open to public and everyone wants to go there. Rooms for the price need much renovation. I want what I pay for. Food in the restaurant is very good. Friendly service people. Beautiful...

We stayed for my sister's bachelorette trip to New Orleans. The staff was extremely polite, accommodating, and helpful. The room was clean, sophisticated (perhaps too sophisticated for my sister's lowbrow shenanigans), and comfortable. The valet experience was helpful and easy. I was dubious about paying the valet/garage fee per night, but it was worth it. The valets took great care...

Very nice hotel, helpful concierge, valet parking excellent. Close to attractions. Doormen were excellent. Overall had a great experience. The only negative was that we arrived around 1pm and it was chaotic in front of hotel with people checking out so we couldn't park and had to leave and come back later. When we arrived back at 4pm, it was...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
