Certificate of Excellence
The Inn on St. Peter is the leisure traveler’s perfect retreat to the Crescent City. Carefully restored with traditional finishes, this New Orleans Inn marries the desires for modern convenience and comfort with an historic French Quarter setting.Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Inn on St. Peter was originally constructed in 1805 with its design influenced by the Spanish style of architecture during that period. Gorgeous private courtyards are nestled throughout the property and provide an ambiance and charm that brings every guest back to the peaceful days of the 19th century French Quarter.Throughout the guestrooms and courtyards guests will find the character of the natural wear of time preserved perfectly for their awe and enjoyment. Each of the 29 guest rooms and suites are unique and tell a different story about the spirit of the French Quarter. Balconies preserved over time offer visitors a distinct experience and a glimpse into simpler times.

French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.

Nice clean and small hotel near Bourbon Street. Right in the French Quarter so you are close to all sights and activities in that area. Rooms are small, but kept very clean and staff is always available for your needs.

A little chaotic when you first arrive. Very unsure about where the entrance is................Don’t expect to get a balcony unless you ask for it Staff extremely pleasant and helpful! There is a corner bar across the street. You won’t get any sleep very noisy!! Rooms are clean

This hotel is in the French Quarter, but it’s far enough from Bourbon St that you get nice quiet nights. It’s across the street from a bar, but it never got noisy or rowdy when we stayed here. It’s a short walk to all of the action, but you get to walk passes the Creole cottages

Great friendly hotel, we stayed in room 12 (second floor) if you can get a second floor that's a must. beds are amazing and everything is within walking distance. Can't fault this hotel in any way. If I could give more then 5 stars I would.

I LOVE this place! Comfortable rooms, great location and great staff. It's all you could want and or need in the Big Easy! Close to but not in the middle of Bourbon Street crazyness. Shout out to Miss Carol and Johnny at the front desk. They can help you with pretty much anything

Hi, I've booked a Deluxe queen with one bed for late January, can you tell me if these rooms are on the second floor with the balcony?
Mine was on the first floor

We are staying there on sept 28th. I read that the balcony is for all guests. Was curious if smoking was allowed on the balcony?
There was smoking. If you have a room on the upper level, the balcony is a wrap around, meaning every room has part of the balcony. They each have a table and two chairs. They provide you with free coffee, apples(which are wonderful) and a coffeemaker in the room. It is very quaint and not far from Bourbon Street! Have Fun! We did!

I will be staying here during December and was wondering do they decorate for holidays and has anyone done a reveillion dinner in the area. I was also wondering if there is a room here I should avoid and is the area relatively safe, thanks.
I've never been to NOLA during the holiday season, so I can't comment on that, but the Inn is situated in a safe and quite part of the French Quarter. Some rooms (ground floor) give out on a private courtyard while others give out on a wraparound balcony (first floor). Both are good choices in my opinion, depending on your personal preference.

Since parking is limited how do you suggest transport from the airport? Is there a shuttle you provide or recommend?
We got a rental car and drove over to Gulf Shores Alabama 1st for a few days. When we came back to New Orleans and checked into the Inn on St Peter, they set me up for parking about 1/4 of a mile away for $13 a day. The couple we were with had to go back to Louis Armstrong Intl a day earlier via taxi. They paid $18 one way, per person. Picked them up right outside the courtyard. Very convenient no matter if you drive or take taxi.

"The 2 room suite is lovely. Opens right out to the balcony for early morning coffee and people watching"
"I would try to book a room on the second floor to get a more scenic experience."
"suites are upstairs and open to a balcony that wraps around the upper level. Call the hotel with any questions, they are so nice!"
"Rooms were remodeled and upgraded, nice. A little tight to get around the room. But, who spends that much time in the room. "
