This is not your ordinary cookie cutter establishment. It is housed in an old renovated estabishment in the Garden District. It has the New Orleans feel and look. One of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. Lots of hot water with good pressure. Clean and quiet. Just a short walk to the trolly and some great eateries....

We have stayed at the Prytania Park several times but this was the first time accompanied by a group of college kids. The location is great. Just walk up the block and get on board the trolley to travel up to the Canal Street area. The demeanor of the male, not the female, overnight front desk person tends to be...

My wife and I stayed at the Prytania Park over Thanksgiving and we both were really happy that we chose the hotel. The location is fabulous- a short walk to the heart of the Garden District, St. Charles Ave., and downtown. It was such a pleasure to stroll from our room immediately into one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in...

Very comfortable hotel with small rooms, which were larger and nicer than the ones our friends had in the French Quarter, and free parking!. The room was nice, the continental breakfast provided good coffee and fresh bagels, and all the staff we met were helpful and friendly. The famous St. Charles tramway is within a short block, and it takes...

Home away from home. Comfortable. Place to park MY CAR. Yes , that's important and figures nicely into the price compared to the French Quarter. Easy walk to lots of eateries and trolleys, one block ! Good Place to relax and felt very safe. Staff was very accomidating. Helped me keep my same room when I extended my stay. Will...

Nice hotel, very clean, and complimentary access to a local gym which was nice! One of the receptionists was a bit brusque with us, but the other staff were lovely. Within a mile or so walking distance of the city centre, so you can walk or get a streetcar if you prefer (the stop is about half a block away)

I actually picked this place to stay because it had free parking and the photos on the website looked like it was nice. It was! We stayed here 3 nights while visiting New Orleans and enjoyed our stay. Front desk staff was great, the room was very clean. It's a small room, but had very tall ceilings, lovely wood floor...

Stayed there Oct 21 thru Oct 24 of 2013. Although the parking was free we had to be there before all the spaces were taken up. The room ( Superior Queen Room ) was small and cramp, the bed was OLD and LUMPY plus it sagged in the middle. The tiles in this room ( #139) were old and broken...

Dear Guest, I am not going to stoop to your level. I am just going to state for the record, we,( you, me, and the 2 ladies at the Front Desk who you discussed the matter of leaving early with), all know the truth behind your anger and were expecting this review as you threatened us with it over and...

Me and two of my friends stayed here during the Essence Festival weekend. We were skeptical, but after reading the reviews we decided to give it a try. We drove 7 hours to New Orleans Friday morning, checked in the hotel, then went to a concert. When we returned to our rooms that evening, one of my friends found a...

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
