The location was awesome with a balcony overlooking the French Quarter. The room was a little quirky - the beds were upstairs and the ceiling was very low. But the downstairs area was quite spacious and included a kitchenette and sofa. Maybe even a fireplace - it was March so we didn't use it.

I have stayed at the Olivier House several times now, and although I have always enjoyed it, my last stay was the best. I think all the repeat guests have their favorite rooms, and of course ,I have mine, which happens to be the original kitchen to the mansion. On my last stay, upon checking in, I ask them if...

The owners and staff are wonderful at this location. Very friendly and helpful. This was a perfect location, close to everything or at least in waking distance. The hotel has great charm and personality. The coffee bar was excellent!! This is not your ordinary everyday hotel, but has lots of class. We look forward to staying again !!

The staff and owners of Olivier House are wonderful and friendly. The rooms are quirky, clean and fun. The location cannot be beat. We are now planning to bring back the whole family. It is a beautiful hotel in a great place with staff that really care. The only downside: they have memory pillows--I think in an effort to have...

We stayed in the Petit Maison this past week. The house was perfect for our needs, with two private balconies and a private courtyard. The beds and pillows were the most comfortable I've slept on! The hotel itself was so nicely decorated and unique. In the main lounge there was free coffee, tea, lemon water and bottled water available 24/7....

This looks like a few historic townhome turned into a hotel. Each morning there was tea and drinks available as well as fruit. Very homey and even though it's almost on bourbon street we slept soundly. Very big tubs and really cool rooms. Each one is unique. We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed at the Olivier House for the first weekend of Jazzfest. Great location almost a block off of Bourbon St. So you're far enough away from most of the noise but close enough to enjoy festivities and most anywhere you want to go in the French Quarter. Stayed in a queen room with balcony. Nice room in a historic home....

Being in the music business I´ve been travelling to New Orleans for 25 years now. Sometimes for work, sometimes for fun. I always stay in the Olivier House where I met a lot of artists, actors and writers over the years. Located in the heart of the French Quarter you just walk around the corner and dive into the throbbing...

Loved this hotel. Very conveniently located. Walking distance to everything (French Quarter, Jackson Square, Waterfront, etc.) Having said that, the hotel is old and a bit "shabby chic." Those who like the modernism of the "W" or similar hotels might not be happy. This hotel was once a mansion that was built in 1839. There are only 64 guest rooms....

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
