We moved to this hotel on our final day in New Orleans since we had points for this stay. (free night in New Orleans rocks!) The hotel was very busy as everyone from Ohio State was leaving. The location is great being right on Canal Street that has restaurants, stores etc within walking distance. I love gambling so it was...

I have stayed at the Marriott on Canal street quite a few times over the years and I have never had a bad stay at the hotel. They use the amazingly comfy Marriott bed, bedding, and pillows. You will not have a bad nights rest. They can't stop you from drinking to excess on Bourbon street or the subsequent hangover...

This large hotel is in the midst of major renovations. It is perfectly situated within steps of the French Quarter, great restaurants, major attractions of this magnificent city. Clearly a lot of money has been invested in such things as a new elevator system and total room renovations. With all that it has going for it, one would expect a...

I had a bit of a problem with the condition of my room. The staff, Cari in reception and Shonta Philiips of the leadership team, were extremely helpful. Shonta provided the best customer service I've ever experienced in a hotel and made a bad situation much better.

When I checked in the very polite guest agent remarked she was giving me one of the "brand new" renovated guest rooms. This is a pretty old hotel so I was looking forward to the improvements. And, with little exception the room isn't all that improved. They have added a ridiculous movable tray table in the room to replace any...

Bill L, Thank you for sharing your feedback concerning the room you received. We agree that the work station in the room needs to be improved upon and that is why we will be receiving a new work station and chair for all rooms this spring. The new and improved design fits the needs of our modern business traveler, like...

This hotel has two towers....and our experience here was mixed. This property is one of the few Marriott-owned - and managed - properties. Front desk service was less than desired, with one exception. Out of our four interactions with the front desk, only one of the four agents was professional and helpful; the other three were young and not interested...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
