What a beautiful property. This is a true gem of the city. If you love history and a throwback to the 1920's, this is the place. The amenities are perfect. The people are wonderful. We were only there three nights but would book again when coming back to New Orleans. The Hotel os in an excellent location making it really...

This hotel is in a perfect location when travelling on business - relatively close to the convention centre, walking distance to the French Quarter and all the fabulous restaurants, and close to the street car and hop 'n off bus stops if you want to do some touring. If old world charm is your preference, this is the place for...

We came to New Orleans to take our son out to dinner. It was a last minute trip and we luckily got a great rate at the Le Pavillon. I'm very picky about where I stay, especially in New Orleans, which can be a mixed bag with all the tourists. Based on the trip adviser reviews we booked it and we...

This hotel was more expensive than I would have wanted to book but it was a business trip at the last minute for a convention and there were no rooms left anywhere else. When you pull up, you are amazed at how beautiful the outside is. It's in downtown and amongst the standard buildings is the old style building with...

very nice place, good food, enjoyed the late nite peanut butter treat. I dont usually get to stay at a luxury place like this, so you need to have some bucks in your pocket to tip everyone... Taxi, Doorman, bell hop.. But we did enjoy our stay.. Although the Lady at the entrance to the restaurant was a bit snobby...

From the doorman in a black tux and tall hat to the chandeliers proliferating the ceilings, Le Pavillion is an elegant treat of times gone by. Staff abound everywhere, all with a warm smile and a comfortable greeting. I am fortunate to stay at many of the Leading Hotels of the World, and LP is without a doubt one of...

Stayed at the lovely Le Pavillon in January. The hotel bar was lively and evening PB&J bar was a delight. My room seemed to be recently updated. Furnishings were comfortable and clean. However, the bathroom was tiny. In addition, it seemed that much had been painted over and the hotel elevators were chabby at best. The hotel is in need...

My son and I took Amtrak from NJ to New Orleans, then spent a couple days in New Orleans and then he took Amtrak back to college in California. Le Pavillon Hotel is in walking distance to the French Quarter, the Amtrak Station, the WWII museum, the stops for the trolleys going to the Garden District, and the trolley going...

We had business in New Orleans and changed hotels. What a wonderful find. Traditional elegance in an old fashioned setting. Doorman greets you as he opens the door. Concierge on staff to assist in any way. Service was impeccable. Dining for breakfast or at the bar were both excellent. No need to stay anywhere else in the area. Very nice...

Stayed here for a business meeting and was very pleased. Although an older hotel it is well maintained and the staff are friendly and helpful. Had an issue with my room (weird smell) and so I called down the the front desk and they immediately apologized and offered me a new room. Also had an issue with the toilet in...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
