Beautiful hotel in the French Quarter. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were in walking distance of everything we wanted to see during our stay. A streetcar stop is right outside the back door. Would definitely stay there again.

Agree with the reviewers who were not impressed with the hotel. Does not reflect the quality of the Hyatt brand. It was much more spartan, and there was the strong smell of marijuana in the corridor one evening. Party goers made a lot of noise on 2 nights returning to their rooms. Weekend buffet was not great, and it did...

our room was spacious and comfortable, very clean. I saw some reviews stating that the rooms streetside were noisy, but we were facing the side street, where the front entrance was and it was quiet. While it did take some time for the water to warm up, it eventually did and our pressure was fine. I had asked when we...

This Hyatt proved again why I always feel home with them. Stayed here just one night after ended an 11 day escorted tour of the south with a 3 night stay at another hotel at Canal Street. Location is great, on the outskirts of the French Quarter on the end of Bohrbon Street. Main Entrance is on Iberville which is...

The hotel is very nice and in a great location - right off Bourbon Street (yet the rooms are quiet and tranquil). Good food. Only complaint is the staff - the front desk was rude and unhelpful during checkout.

We had a Bourbon Street balcony room, and it was perfect for what we wanted. The balcony view was a lot of fun to watch everything going on below. Definitely plan on earplugs (which the hotel will provide for you if you ask) or keep the TV on all night, which we did. The ceilings in this hotel are impressive,...

We booked through Travelocity and stayed a week at the Hyatt Centric. It is very conveniently located in The French quarter. Is is also near streetcar lines so it's easy to get around the city. It is just one street from Bourbon street but you don't hear street noise. Very good, friendly service. We often went to the concierge desk...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
