Just returned from long weekend here for my wife's 40th birthday. The hotel itself is great, the location is great, the rooms are fine as long as you don't get one facing the alley. Our room faced the Marriot Hotel parking garage with a service alley between. Literally all night you hear the valets in the garage constantly honking the...

This hotel was central... Very close to everything but just far enough from the extreme noise. We had some problems with blankets and towels... It was New Years and they were crowded. The staff was so nice and friendly that they made us feel great!!! I would stay there again and again!!

Friendly front desk staff, some better then others. Some not so concerned with your concerns. They run out of stuff like towels, ice, coffee supplies, t.p. The place needs a little perking up. Really Great location. Really great. A convenient but understaffed restaurant is attached to the hotel. But a really great location.

5 day stay over MLK weekend. Very good location in the French Quarter, 3 blocks to Bourbon and 2 blocks from the river. As far as the hotel, it's still a work in progress. Front desk attendants were all nice & accommodating, especially Jonniest ( forgive me if I misspelled). She was more than professional and always greeted us with...

The hotel is being renovated and I had a redone room with a wood floor and new furniture. Perhaps not complete because there were no towel bars in the bathroom. Most hotels in the French Quarter (except perhaps the high-end chains) have small rooms, and La Galerie is no exception. However, the room was not cramped, having an armchair although...

I was pleasantly surprised w/ La Galerie, I was just hoping for a clean spot in the French Quarter to get some sleep, so as long as there were no bugs, I was good! It was spotless, w/ a spacious room, and very conveniently located, just a short walk from both Bourbon St and downtown. This is also a pretty...

no frills but clean rooms. Nice little coffee shop attached and art gallery. Great location within the quarter. Wonderful front desk staff! Ordered us their favorite taxi and it ended up being upgraded to an SUV/towncar at no extra cost!

Had an enjoyable stay at La Galerie Hotel, room was clean and the bed was super comfy. Great location within walking distance to all the main attractions and has a tasty restaurant right next door to the hotel. Bring earplugs though as the surrounding bars can get somewhat noisy into the night.

Traveling on business with my family Pros: The location of this hotel is fantastic. Easy to walk to major destinations. Rooms are a decent size for the French Quarter in a historic building. The beds are comfortable and the hotel set up a crib for our infant to use during our stay. There was a young slender man with glasses...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.

“A few things you should know before booking this hotel: The bathroom is tiny. The shower is 2 feet by 2 feet. That's it. With little to know water pressure. There is absolutely no place to put anything. I had to put my toiletries on the floor in the bathroom and cloths on the floor. There is a tiny closet with a shelf but no light. It's very dark in the room as well. No mini fridge, no microwave, no coffee pot. It's not like there isn't a place to put a dresser or bookshelf type piece in the room- there is. ”
