I had a lovely stay at the Royal Hotel. My room was spacious and clean with tv and a really comfortable double bed. There is not breakfast offered but coffee, tea and water were available in the hall all the time. Staff is absolutely great and the location is perfect to walk around the French quarter. High Recommended!

We had a court yard room, which was noisy in the morning when other guests were eating breakfast there and we were still sleeping. However, the staff was superb. No matter who was at the front desk, they went out of their way to be sure you had everything you needed. Offered assistance with directions, restaurant recommendations. We needed to...

The size of this room was a postage stamp. It was pretty basic with very little fluff other than the bed and four walls with a bathroom included. For the cost, I would advise against staying in a basic room here.

Dear clintonscoles, Thank you for your feed back. I do apologize that we were not able to accommodate your needs. Some of our rooms are petite rooms. They are listed as petite rooms on our website. Hotel Royal is a historical building. None of our rooms are the same in size and none of the rooms have the same layout....

Hotel Royal is in a wonderful location, but our room (#27 - 2nd floor) was disappointing. Albeit clean, the bed sheets were stained. The bathroom floor, showerhead, tub and toilet were not particularly clean. Desperately in need of some elbow grease with some attention to detail. Fortunately the folks in the room next to ours were pretty quiet, because we...

Dear Angie J, Thank you for your feedback. I do apologize for the conditions of your room. The issues with #27 will be addressed. Unfortunately, due to the structure and age of the building we are unable to control the travel of sound or have elevators. Again, we do appreciate your feedback. Please feel free to contact me if you...

This hotel was GREAT. The location cannot be beat, with all of the French Quarter in easy walking distance. The rooms are small, at least mine was, but it was very clean and well equipped, the bed was really comfy! The Courtyard is adorable and the entire place has a beautiful historic feel. John at the front desk was so...

Quaint hotel, great location to explore the French Quarter. Our room was on the ground floor, facing Royal Street which made it a bit noisy especially early morning with delivery trucks etc. The room was very nice with a comfortable king-size bed. Staff were friendly and very helpful. They were able to supply parking near by at a reasonable cost....

Our hotel was wonderful! I never wanted to leave. It had the New Orleans old style along with new age luxuries. The staff were extremely helpful. They made sure we were taken care of and even went out of their way to make sure we had a good parking spot saved! The only thing I didn't like about our trip...

The location of this hotel, and the original style buildings gives it an interesting and historical feel. The old building has maintained a lot of features which I loved. There is no lift but the staff are very helpful with bags, and very friendly about it too. The rooms are very comfortable and a good size. The only tip would...

We arrived and parking was full - no problem, expected that. Directed to a lot several blocks away and paid $54 for 24 hrs. Walked up 4 flights of stairs to our room and found that it had not been renovated as advertised online. All of the photos you see online are NOT what our room was like. It is...

Dear KellyH37006, thank you for your feedback. We apologize that your stay with us failed to meet expectations. While it's true that the historic nature of our property means that we have stairs instead of an elevator, the Agent you spoke with should have phrased that much better. As for the parking, nowhere does it say that it is "provided,"...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
