My husband and I stayed at the Royal Street Courtyard in New Orleans for 5 nights to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. When we arrived at the train station, Phillip met us at the train station & drove us to the B&B. Once there, he gave us a complete rundown of the neighborhood, the facilities, the possible activities, etc. We...

My wife and I recently spent a long weekend in New Orleans to celebrate her birthday. We stayed 3 days/nights at the Royal Street Courtyard B&B and we could not have been happier with our experience. It is located within an easy walk to Frenchman Street and the French Quarter. It is also located close to some cool, off-the-beaten-path places...

When my flight landed, I took the (E-2) city bus from the Airport to the French Quarter. While my friends split a $33.00 cab ride, I only paid $1.60 fare on the city bus. The bus dropped me off 2 blocks from Canal Street. I took the street car to Frenchmen Street and then walked to Royal Street. I stayed...

Superb stay in New Orleans at the Royal Street Courtyard. 1. Location: Slightly away from the frantic main touristy area, but still within easy walking distance or short cab ride. Great location though as very close to the great music on Frenchmen Street and right beside the great local neighbourhood food places that are not overrun by tourists. 2. Rooms:...

We could not have been more impressed or pleased with our stay. Philip was knowledgeable, kind, and incredibly accommodating. The room was just lovely and the back yard is gorgeous. The whole place just exudes grace and charm and the kind of easy efficiency that comes from people who work very hard and with a lot of pride. I sort...

I stayed for a week. Phillip is a wealth of knowledge, and I took him up on all the food recommendations, both near the B&B and far. The B&B is nearby the great restaurants and music venues on Frenchmen Street. Walking to and from Frenchmen and the FQ at night was fine and safe. It also neighbours the Bywater, which...

I don't think i can say anything else that other reviews did not say... The place is very nice, well located, peaceful, the owners have a great taste with the decoration (we were in the small room and it was much nicer than it looked in the pictures in the web), we had a lot of choices for breakfast... The...

I live in NOLA and whenever my folks come to visit they always stay at the Royal Street Courtyard. They simply love the B and B and have been delighted with every stay. Philip and David are extraordinary hosts -- helpful, courteous, witty, flexible, accomodating ... i could go on and on singing their praises. The location of the B...

This is a great place to stay. It is far enough away from the crowds of Bourbon Street, but within great walking distance. The neighborhood has a great charm about it and the walk back each night took us by some charming places. Phillip and Dave were gracious hosts. The house is beautiful and it is decorated with beautiful antiques....

Booked a room at this B&B for three nights after reading wonderful reviews online and checking with a friend who previously lived in New Orleans. Our expectations were more than met and we will definitely stay here again next time we go to New Orleans. The minute you see the beautiful front of the house and step into the sumptuously...

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
