We booked this property for Mardi Gras about a year in advance. My BF and I were traveling with his son. We booked one of the cottages for ourselves and a room in the main house for his son. Breakfast each day was awesome! Everyday was a different full breakfast. No continental, help yourself convenience foods that are typical. The...

Me and my girl friend stayed at the Maison de Macarty for a few days while exploring New Orleans and we were blown away. The building is beautiful as are the grounds, we opted to stay in the pool cottage which we loved. The owner Kurt greeted us with OJ and coffee each morning in the dining room and Curtis...

We stayed for our 30 years anniversary. Had a great time, excellent hospitality and great breakfast - every day something different. The room was very nice, the bed very comfortable. We were without a car and enjoyed a brisk walk to and from the French quarter - about 30 min walk. The neighborhood is safe and houses are either renovated...

We had a great time here. We were in room 1 which was beautiful. Bed very comfortable. The B&B is on a very quiet street in the eclectic Bywater area. We stayed here during Mardi Gras so unfortunatey we basically only slept here...spending all of our time in the French Quarter which was a brisk 25 minute walk to get...

I was traveling for business and had the opportunity to stay a weekend in New Orleans. I have never been to NO. I wanted a break from standard hotels and for something more homey and found this BnB. I am so glad I did. It was perfect! The BnB had a nice private outdoor setting that's comfortable, quiet, and welcoming....

My partner and I initially booked three nights here and ended up staying an extra one because we loved it. The house is truly beautiful and it was nice to stay in the Bywater district, and to be away from the normal tourist route. The breakfast served every morning was delicious and the chef served us something different every morning....

We chose this place because the music sounded so awesome. It was very relaxed and the service was amazing. We had a table in the back area which made it a little easier to talk while we ate our dinner. With three in our party we ordered chicken pasta primavera, chicken Caesar salad and Cochin du lait with sweet fries....

We booked the best room of the house and it was not a disappointment. It was large, inviting and had a private balcony (you can see it in the pic!). The area it was in was off the beaten path giving you a real feel for other parts of NOLA. Best to take an Uber to the french quarter and...

We stayed for our "honeymoon/elopement" Halloween weekend. This was the most perfect and quirky hotel within our price range. The owner was very charming. This is a bed a breakfast, so our morning meals were here. 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 which were delicious. The details are gorgeous. It is not centrally located in the French quarter. It's about a 10/15 walk from it....

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
