We visited La Maison in July, just as Hurricane was hitting nearby. The B&B lost electricity for at least a full day as did much of the neighborhood. John was the ultimate host. Made sure we were fed, had full knowledge of the storm's aftermath and our options, ensured our safety and worked diligently to relocate us to another nice...

My wife and I had a fantatic time in New Orleans. John welcomed us in the B&B and gave us good information on where to go and what to see. The B&B was a perfect choice and I would recomended it to anyone.

We loved everything: the B&B, the host, the fabulous location. Having never been to N.O. and not really a B&B person, I had my fingers crossed over my selection of La Maison Marigny. My husband and I loved it. We had the queen balcony room, which we found very nicely appointed. Even with being on the street, the room was...

My wife and I just returned from a stay at La Maison Marigny. We chose this B&B after reading the many comments about it on TripAdvisor. The positive comments are very definitely deserved. We stayed in the Owners' Suite which was very enjoyable. Everything about the place was first class: the cleanliness, the decor, the bedding, the atmosphere, the breakfasts,...

Sorry it took me sooo long to post my review. :) My boyfriend and I visited La Maison Marigny last fall. I was in town for a conference and he came along with me to make work more enjoyable. First of all I have to say, John was very accomodating when it came to making reservations. He was quick to...

Wrapping up an enjoyable stay at La Maison Marigny today and I could not wait to post. After all, I read much about this BnB on tripadvisor.com and owe my wonderful vacation to this site. The B&B owners are nice and the rooms are fantastic. We stayed in the purple room. Loved it! Only drawback was lack of individual thermostats,...

We did alot of research to find this quiet little B&B to stay in just before our Cruise. The final research was looking at the reviews here on Trip Advisor. The Host, John, was freindly and very he;lpful with local information about dining and touring. This B&B offered the best of both worlds, a quiet place with plenty of privacy,...

John Ramsey, the proprietor, is restaurant reviewer, taxi procurer, muffin maker, coffee brewer, and host extradinaire...the B&B is decorated with comfort #1 and beauty a close second...what a wonderful place to start each day during Jazz Fest and a sublime oasis to return to each evening...if you have a free hour (and I doubt that you will) why not just...

What an incredible trip! I am now a Jazz Fest afficianado and I've found my new favorite place to stay in New Orleans. We love this B&B! Small and elegant and VERY friendly! Owner John always has a big smile on his face and his years of hotel management certainly show. We enjoyed chatting about his B&B experiences. Our room...

My college friends and I reserved all four rooms at the La Maison Marigny B&B for a reunion weekend. We all had a fabulous time! The Inn was the perfect location, at the quiet end of Bourbon street, to rest and recover from evenings in the french quarter. Everything amenity in the hotel, from the comprehensive DVD collection, conservative and...

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.

“The upstairs room in the back is nice and quiet. But the street is one block outside the Quarter, so the whole house is quite peaceful”

“We checked out all the rooms and they are all super cute and charming. The one over the back courtyard is probably quieter because it faces away from the street. Same with the room in the middle of the upstairs. But we didn't think it was noisy in the suite and that has a room facing the street.”
