This is a great old hotel in a good location with free parking. The room was large, clean and comfortable. It is near the St. Charles streetcar stop. The hotel also offer free breakfast every morning. We will return to this hotel in the future.

Please note: the check in is kitty corner across the street from the hotel! We got a great deal on this hotel through Hotwire, and are really happy by how nice the accommodations turned out to be. The building is a old converted mansion from the 1840s or so (wished they had provided the historic significance of the building along...

Lovely hotel albeit with split location accommodation. Plus points excellent location to town and close to street cars. Negative side is that I have difficulty with stairs and asked for ground (first) floor but was given a second floor room. Also, although breakfast was clearly being served inside a site only feet from our accommodation, we were told at check...

This was the first trip to New Orleans for my husband and me since our college days (quite a few years ago). I chose this hotel based on the reviews and location and was not disappointed. It was quiet, secure and in a great location, only two blocks from a St. Charles streetcar stop in the lower Garden District. I...

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking time out to write a review. I am so thrilled to know we made your return to New Orleans and your weekend experiences a wonderful one, and do hope you will come back again. But this time, don't make it that many years apart, as we are just a hop, skip, and jump away...

I must say that it was the 1st time my husband and I visited New Orleans. Upon arrival to this traditionally, southern elegance hotel. We noticed that the area even looked quiet from the street way. Couldn't find the office right off by the gentleman walk right out to assist us. Customer service office was sparkling. Customer service was very...

We spent the weekend at Prytania Oaks in the Garden District and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room was very clean and looked great when we arrived. We were a little confused upon arrival because the check in Office is located at the Prytania Hotel across the street. A security guard saw us park and he promptly let us know...

We found a good deal online for our spontaneous trip down to The Big Easy at the Prytania Oaks. The hotel is a couple of blocks off St.Charles, the best known Garden District area and the trolley line. The hotel is one of three hotels that are converted old traditional New Orleans homes. The room was small but clean and...

The hotel is in good shape. The room is cozy and spacious and doesn't have that sanitized chain hotel feeling. I didn't see anything suspect with the neighborhood and we walked everywhere, including to the FQ and back. I think maybe people are paranoid about cities, New Orleans in particular. There is a security guard at all times, he checks...

Dear Guest and Readers, Firstly, let me Thank this guest for his review and apologize for this maintenance issue. We do appreciate all reviews and use them to correct areas that need attention. Such as his comment about the Keys to the room. The keys are electronic key cards like 99% of the hotels worldwide. They are not pre-encoded, but...

We came to meat someone. The room, parking, and the room was great, a bit small, but we didn't mind that. It was clean and the continental breakfast was not bad. The neighborhood is dark at night, and that could make one uncomfortable walking.

Dear Readers, I appreciate and welcome all guests reviews, but feel its necessary to correct a point where needed. The neighborhood is mixed residential to commercial. Mostly residential, so therefore, street lighting is appropriate to the neighborhood. The massive Live Oak trees that our wonderful City maintains, line the street in area provide a beautifully canopy for shade in the...

Garden district is a paradise. Hotel front desk is so dedicated to your service. Our room was just fabulous, at a very affordable price. But: 1-Breakfast should be slightly improved. 2-Our room was not very clean when we arrived. We did not leave a tip for the maid, consequently. She complained in an aggressive way. Maybe she was just on...

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking time to write the review. I appreciate the overall comments, however, your claims upset me as this is not acceptable for my hotel.. Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
