My spouse and I had a great experience at the Burgundy. Carl even helped us pronounce Bur-gun-dy correctly. it's a sweet house with a lovely back yard for morning coffee or late-night dips into the hot tub. Coming from New York in February I had of course brought my heavy winter coat but when we left I forgot it and...

Carl recommended Feelings for dinner - about 4 blocks south of the hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal there due to excellent food and great service! It's about a mile away from the French Quarter, but we (three women) were perfectly comfortable making the trek in the evening and then back in the early morning. If you're more interested in...

Carl is a total sweetheart. You and the people in the other three rooms are guests in his home. Carl is gracious and available, but never pushy. Everything there is well thought out for your easy use. Examples: 1)The clothes washer and drier have all of the various types of different washing products standing right there beside the machines. Nothing...

We LOVED our stay at the Burgundy, I can't even begin to say why.... Carl and his partner were great, very friendly and willing to help with just about anything: where to go on day trips, restaurants, bars etc. Great breakfast every morning, including freshly baked pastries, juice, fruit etc. The room was very comfortable, good bed, nice furnishing. Beautifull...

Carl made our five night stay GREAT! He is so accommodating, our train was so late and didn't get to the Bed and Breakfast until after 2 A.M. but Carl was ready for us. Breakfast was always good and rooms were extremely clean. With a fifteen minute walk to the river walk and Gray Line tours it made taking tours...

I spent a couple nights at The Burgundy Bed and Breakfast while attending a training conference in New Orleans in March. My room was very comfortable. The location is convenient but in a quiet neighborhood setting. Carl was a charming host who had answers to all my questions, some of them before I even asked. I'd definitely stay here again...

The Burgundy Bed and Breakfast is comfortable with a feel like home. I enjoyed my 4-night stay here. Carl is very good host. His teammate, Kem is also very nice and helpful. Since I was traveling alone, they gave me so many supports to make my trip easier. I especially enjoyed the breakfast time when I can have a casual...

My boyfriend and I stayed two nights at the Burgundy, and found it a wonderful place to stay in the Marigny, a fantastic neighborhood past Esplanade, beyond the French Quarter. Carl was welcoming and incredibly helpful, giving us great suggestions for places to eat and drink, a map with clear walking directions to nearby hot spots, and even the bus...

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
