I booked this B&B based on previous reviews and I think I must have stayed in a different place! Apart from the check in, got very little engagement from Carl, his personality is more suited to that of an undertaker. The rooms are dated and...More

Response from Carl S, Owner at The Burgundy Bed and BreakfastResponded 21 March 2017
I repeat my response to your companion's review, changing "depressing" to "personality of an undertaker":
I am very sorry that you were disappointed and also received some inaccurate information about the safety of the area. Check the crime maps, which are publicly available, and you...More
Quiet, comfortable B&B about 1/2 mile from Jackson Square. Carl the owner is very helpful, personable, and knowledgeable. Breakfast was always interesting and fun. We walked into all the local attractions, and took the streetcars elsewhere, all convenient. Nice place.
We stayed at the Burgundy for a week. The location is perfect, within walking distance of pretty much everything we wanted to see and do, and right near several trolley and bus lines in case we wanted to go farther. The innkeeper presents a nice...More

Everything about The Burgundy B&B was exceptional! Our host was a lot of fun. We ended up talking well into the night multiple times. It felt like a family right away. The hot tub in the courtyard was delightful, and everything was just all around...More
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining
destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
If you can fit down a 3 ft wide alley you can park in the alley or push all the way to the back courtyard. The bikers I have had until now have opted to leave their bikes on the street and there has never been a problem.
