We were wary of this Inn given a handful of negative reviews, but we decided to take a chance and are so glad we did! Traveled early December as a couple to NOLA for the first time and wanted somewhere clean, comfortable, and affordable to stay with a convenient location. We couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. Kim, the innkeeper,...

I was extremely happy to choose A Creole Inn to stay during my return to NOLA. I found the couple running the place delightful. they were attentive in terms of ensuring my room was comfortable and provided me with enough bath towels, washcloths. etc. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Also, the location was perfect for...

I can honestly say that my first trip to New Orleans LA was made perfect by the Creole Inn! Kim was the best, full of useful information and complete kindness. I really enjoyed the back yard that was very private to enjoy a beer if we wanted to stay in rather then go out every night. The neighborhood was so...

Yet another enjoyable stay at the Inn in late November for two weeks in Old Europe, and had difficulties in finding any complaints as mentioned in the recent "awful" review posted a few weeks ago. With Kim and Charley being the hospitable innkeepers as ever. It's hard to add anything more to the previous eight reviews that I've posted about...

I stayed at the Creole Inn in early November and loved the experience. The room was very comfortable, bathroom spacious and clean. The warm atmosphere of the place and the kindness of Mrs. Kim (manager) makes me feel in my home. I hope to one day go back and relive the experience! Highly recommend!

Wish we had heeded the warning of other travelers. We stayed in the “Old Europe” room. The bathroom walls and grout are covered in black mold. There was unknown splatter on the nightstand in the back room. The cheap plastic shower curtain kept falling off the rod. The smell of mold is over whelming. The fact the owner berates people...

"Disrespectful, rude, high maintenance guest" You really don't deserve a response because we rate you as awful as well. We do not berate anyone but we do get our point across to the ignorant who fail to research their lodging choices. We ask horrible nasty people like you with attitudes who want to berate our property to NOT book here....

This was my first visit to New Orleans and I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The price was great for the area. It was enough out of the way from the craziness of Bourbon Street but still walking distance from everything we wanted to see. The room was very clean, cozy, and creatively decorated and the...

I'd actually rate the hotel about a 3.5 but you can only choose 3 or 4. It's not fancy but you can be comfortable and not break the bank. First impression was pretty negative. The neighborhood seemed rundown and not as well lit as we expected. The Inn's entrance area needs an update - a little sprucing up. Onsite management...

This was our third visit to New Orleans and our second stay at the Old Creole Historic Inn. Don't expect a luxurious hostal, it's simple but adequate and affordable, especially compared to most hostals and b&b in this neighbourhood. Breakfast is not included but just two blocks away you'll find the best breakfast option in town, the Cake Cafe (Chartres#Spain)....

A friend and I stayed here for 4 nights/5 days last week. We enjoyed our stay, and the caretakers, Kim and Charley, were great hosts - Kim was full of conversation, tourist tips, and suggestions for things to do while in town. (Side note: Kim offers pickup at the airport, which is fantastic!) The Inn is located within walking distance...

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
