Hostels in the USA generally aren't that good. Usually pretty expensive, full of strange characters or children and with little atmosphere but the India Hostel was the complete opposite. It has a pool for starters - a cool vibe, lots of places to chill and drink and friendly staff. It's location isn't the greatest (about 15 minutes to Bourbon Street...

I stayed here for 5 nights in august 2015 and it was excellent. I stayed in the 16 bed mixed dorm. The bed was clean, the ac was great and there were lockers in the room to store your valuables. There was an excellent atmosphere when I stayed there. Everyone gathers on the patio area at night to socialise and...

This is the most social hostel I have ever stayed in. There is a swimming pool (which I didn't swim in because it was warm and eeeww backpacker dirty germs breeding) and everyone hangs out and meets new friends outside in the courtyard. I stayed in a female dorm in the main house (there are a few houses that belong...

I stayed here during the 2015 jazz festival for a week. The place was a great price and was just a short street car ride from the French quarter. People here were so friendly and it was easy to meet new people from many countries. It wasn't the cleanest place but it wasn't disgusting. Bring a lock to lock your...

This was my first hostel experience, but I didn't have any expectations! The room was clean, the shared bathroom was a little rundown- but what can you expect? This is a hostel- not a 5 star hotel! A lot of unique people, kitchen, shared room. Not too loud! Very basic accommodations, but somewhere cheap- so you can spend more money...

How this hostel is not condemned under OHSW laws is beyond me. The fridges are bulging with abandoned and discarded food and bugs are literally running rampant. The guests are not considered trustworthy of crockery and cutlery and plastic and styrofoam is used as an environmentally unfriendly alternative. The staff are haphazard and unfriendly to say the least. There is...

I will start by saying I bring my husband and son to this delightful little mid-city gem because we come to NOLA to play, go, see, do, and eat--NOT to sit in our hotel room. We always reserve the room with a private shower and toilet. There's a bunk for each of us and room for the kiddo's air mattress....

It was my first time staying at a hostel and it was pretty good, friendly staff who we're willing to answer any questions and give recommendations. It was pretty clean and have home cooked meals every night for a cheap price. I'd go there again
