From the moment we walked into the Andrew Jackson we were welcomed with open arms, I have to give a special mention to receptionist Brooke who was a real gem and to the lovely Annie (the croissant lady) who treated us like a member of the family, The hotel itself i would call shabby chic the rooms were massive and... We stayed from Oct 29th through Nov 1st, 2015. The staff are so friendly and helpful in every way! From calling a cab, to suggesting things... More

My husband and I stayed at the Andrew Jackson Hotel for our honeymoon about a month ago, Sep 28 - Oct 5. I am so thankful that we chose this hotel for our first visit to New Orleans; it was perfect! Firstly, the price really couldn't be beat for a hotel dead center in the French Quarter. A block from... More

I love historical spots and this is one. Our room was at the top of the stairs and it featured high ceilings and two windows, one overlooking the hotel next door and the other overlooking the Andrew Jackson courtyard. When you arrive, you can pay extra for valet parking and your car will be delivered to the front door for... More

The hotel is perfectly located within the French Quarter, walking distance to everything. The old chipped paint/ loose clanky narrow stair case appearance of the facility matches its historic ambiance. the court yard is something taken right out of history, old brick paved with a vintage bird bath. spooky! Mystery video of shadows and moans appeared on my phone. we... More

The experience was great. I didn't have any hauntings to report for myself. It's an old hotel so don't expect ritzy. They were doing remodeling when I was there. Only bummer was that if you were on the second floor, no elevator so you would have to carry your luggage up the narrow stairs. Great location though! Next block over... More

Among the complaints are: The carpet in the room was FILTHY. We thought walking barefoot in the room was a good idea, but when we discovered black soot pouring from under our feet during showers, we realized that the carpet was the source of our dirty feet. Even the act of walking the very short distance from the shower to... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
