We stayed 4 nights at Elysian Fields during our first trip to New Orleans. The house is lovely with large, clean, well-kept rooms. The breakfast area has multiple seating options (to eat with a group or dine more privately) and the food was all yummy! Michelle is wonderful - very friendly and helpful (Bob was away while we were there)....

Very nice inn. We definitely would come back here. Close to the French Quarters, within walking distance to Bourbon Street. Try it, you'll like it! Plenty of restaurants close by. The owners were very nice and helpful as fast as we're to eat. Cafe DuMonde has the best coffee and beignets!

This was our second stay here, and we've already made reservations for our next. This is simply a place where friends gather. The breakfast table rings with the laughter of folks who are strangers the first morning, but share cocktails on the beautiful front porch by the evening. Michelle and Bob could write the book on inn keeping. The house...

We stayed at the Inn for a weekend getaway. Celebrating our 11th Anniversary, and attending a friends wedding. The location is perfect, not too far from the Quarter but far enough to have some quiet evenings. The front porch is phenomenal and we will absolutely return for another relaxing weekend!

We stayed at the Elysian Fields Inn for a friend's family vacation. We loved the Inn! The hosts Michelle & Bob were the best. They made us feel extremely welcome. We were made to feel at home. The few meals I had were delicious. They gave us great tips for what to see while in town. My plan is to...

Elysian Fields Inn is the place to stay if you want the perfect mix of southern hospitality and local color, and it's located just two blocks from Frenchmen St, the epicenter of live jazz and blues in the Quarter. Beautiful high ceilings, clean rooms and beds, delicious breakfast at a reasonable hour, and honest tips from your hosts Michelle and...

I can not wait to go back to New Orleans and stay at Elysian Fields again. Words and pictures can not do the place justice. Michelle and Bob are funny, friendly, warm and informative. They provide maps and suggest great places to go during the day and night. I had a safe place to keep my car. Lots of privacy...

The Elysian Fields Inn was an absolutely perfect place for our family group of 9. The location is convenient (5 minute walk to Frenchmen Street and around the corner from some great food places); the common areas and rooms are charming and beautifully decorated; the breakfasts were delicious; and the owners are accommodating and helpful. If we visit New Orleans...

My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend. Michelle and Bob are the perfect New Orleans hosts especially if you love music. The breakfasts every morning were a great way to start a day. I want to go back just for the food. But not only that. The Inn is so comfortable. We had the suite downstairs, it...

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
