This hotel was once lovely but is now showing its age. Our room was clean but looked dirty because of age. Our Bathroom smelled as though it needed a disinfect cleaning. The hotel entry really needed to be accentuated. We didn't even know it was there.

I visited NOLA to celebrate my 30th birthday and we made a great choice by booking this hotel. The hotel is very nice with a kind gentleman in the lobby who was friendly and helped us store our luggage until check in time. At the time of check in, the lady at the counter went above and beyond by upgrading...

Nice hotel. Clean too, considering how dirty it can be downtown. Very close to the action on burbon street. Security measures were in place at night, so you felt safe going in and out of the hotel. Conference rooms were nice as well.

My stay was good. The location was great for the al French Quarter. The room was big and clean with nice amenities. Th e only complaint was the noise from the building AC which was bery loud and banging. I would stay here again.

Great accommodations, hotel is beautiful and very classy. Hotel staff are polite and responsive. Rooms are spacious and we'll furnished. Hot water was immediately available, avoiding nagging waits to clean up.

I came here for a business conference which was held at another hotel but I wanted to stay here. The staff was courteous but not overly friendly. The rooms were nice and well appointed. The bed was comfortable. The lighting was incredibly bright which is unusual. The location is on Canal Street with Bourbon Street on one corner.

Would love to stay here again when I'm in New Orleans. The hotel is big and neatly decorated. The location is at the corner of Canal and Bourbon street which makes it ideal for going to different restaurants, bars and what not. The rooms are fairly large compared to other hotels in the same area.

Professional and friendly staff. Perfect location, walking distance to a lot of amenities. Stayed in a standard room, very clean and the bed is comfortable. iron and ironing board in the room, which is a plus. The only thing is that the room does not have windows that open for air circulation, there's zircon but still the room becomes stuffy....

If I could say anything bad it would be because of my own lack of knowledge ....... parking is hard to get to if you have a car. And drop off of bags is hard in front on Canal street because of the small entrance. Otherwise this is a great property right on the corner of Bourbon and Canal I...

Maybe a better room would have helped our impression of this hotel. Maybe. The lobby was nice and employees were friendly but we noticed long lines at the check in desk several times. We were given a small King room with a view of an abandoned, run down lot and the backside of a parking garage. The bathroom was not...

Dear MGH_7 Thank you for your comments regarding your recent stay at the Astor. I am very happy to see that you enjoyed our lobby and wonderful team members. However, please allow me to apologize that the size of your room detracted from your overall experience. We have a number of different room types to choose from and would be...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
