I work in the hotel industry and I have stayed at most hotels in New Orleans.I believe the Renaissance Pere Marq is an experience, not just another hotel. Renaissance hotels are always iconic properties, often boutiques or treasures that beg to be explored. The Pere Marq embraces New Orleans in a beautiful, luxurious way. Every single employee I met was...

This is a very nice place - tall but only a few rooms on each floor so it doesn't feel huge and impersonal. Swanky bar and lounge area, awesome decorations and nice hospitality room for hotel guests with free waters, sodas and hot tea, chocolate and coffee (Starbucks, of course!). Great breakfast buffet too! Stayed here for several days so...

Location: perfect. Easy walking distance to French Quarter, streetcars and Harrah's. Check-in/concierge/doorman: All were very peasant and helpful. Decor: Modern and interesting. Restaurant: had breakfast only, ordered off menu (not the buffet), and it was good and surprisingly affordable. Terrific waitress. Bar: good appetitzers/drinks. Room: Nice, clean, appropriately sized. Pool: small but cute and adequate. Didn't use the fitness room....

Not your grandfather's Marriott corporate cousin, or the usual tourist target chains in the Quarter, but this place has loads of cachet. Yes it is in the edgey west end-- part of the Nawlins charm imho-- but it is sweet-spot-walking-distance between the Riverfront, Harrah's, Superdome, Medical District, and Bourbon Street. The Gothic-Italiante fusion works well here and the vibe flawlessly...

The Front Desk Staff was rude and non sympathetic. We drove down from Kansas City for Memorial Day weekend and picked the hotel because it had a pool. Was told pool was closed and would be open the next day, well the next we were told the same thing again. Monday we were promised it would be open and shocker...

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. Please accept our sincerest apologies for the unexpected closure of our pool during your visit. We did experience a malfunction of pool equipment that regulates chlorine levels making it necessary to close the pool until this could be rectified. It is with much regret that the repair took longer than...

While this is an older hotel, the lobby is modern and it has all the amenities one needs. The room was spacious and comfortable. The construction on the street made it difficult to get a cab or even get into tour buses - hopefully that will end soon. The location of the hotel makes it very convenient to walk to...

Stayed at the Renaissance Pere Marquette for 3 nights during Jazz Fest this year. It's a nice hotel, clean, the rooms are average sized. It's a little walk to Canal but in a nice location. There was construction going on right outside the hotel but it wasn't really a distraction or nuisance. Very nice stay!

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
