This was our first stop in a 6-week tour around the States and we both loved New Orleans and the hotel due to its location and cleanliness. We didn't need to interact with the staff hugely but when we did they were polite and courteous. We loved wandering around the streets around the hotel and we found lots of little...

I drove all the way from KY to this hotel. Not the hotels fault at all but my GPS had me going around the city in circles to find the hotel. Secondly not much info given in description or reviews of hotel on where the parking is located. All over the city there are parking lots that say PARK here...

This review is mainly for the staff...Ashley, Adam and the concierge have been outstanding! We were welcomed after a 2 hour delay train ride with smiling faces from Ashley & Adam. They got our family in a nice room with extra bath linens and pillows. They were helpful with answering questions about getting a picky 10 yr old and 13...

The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and funky, and the bed super super comfortable. This is not your typical chain hotel and we really appreciated that. Nice continental breakfast and good coffee, what more can you ask for? This hotel is very close to the trolley line and walkable to some really interesting shops, taverns and...

Horrible experience both because of Trip Advisor and Hotel Modern. We paid for our stay in full at the time of online booking. Yet we were charged again by Hotel Modern for our stay after we checked out without our knowing that they charged us. We called Hotel Modern and told them about it and the person we spoke to...

So, this place is okay. It is definitely for younger people who plan on partying. The place looks really modern like the name suggests. I was given a room right above their bar/club and we could hear the music and bass every night until around 2AM. It was very irrtiating The room itself was very small and the furniture was...

Hotel Modern is located between the French Quarter and the Garden District and situated right on Lee Circle and one block from the National World War II museum. It is also on the St. Charles streetcar line (only $1.25 one way). The staff is extremely nice and the price, especially during the week, is quite reasonable. The hotel offers a...

Stayed for 3 nights after a cruise, hotel located next to the trolley car stop and gave easy access to the French Quarter & Bourbon Street. It was also just round the corner from the excellent WW2 museum. Room was slightly on the small side but was comfortable and clean, with coffee making facility. There is a complimentary continental breakfast...

Hotel Modern was on a nice spot on a traffic circle on Saint Charles, only a few walking blocks from Canal St, and French Quarter. You can park on the circle for 20 minutes but then have to move your car to the back lot which is $25 but easily accessible to the hotel through the courtyard. I liked the...

Staying in Arts District / Warehouse District

Neighbourhood Profile
Arts District / Warehouse District
Once a thriving industrial zone, today this district is home to a buzzing arts scene with an amazing assortment of galleries, boutiques, and studios having moved in and set up shop throughout the disused warehouses for which the area is so well known. Much of the art you'll come across here is local in scope, ownership and inspiration. However, among the many old brick warehouses are modern structures of steel and glass housing large-scale cultural institutions of national prominence such as the National World War II Museum, the Contemporary Arts Center, and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. Just as eye catching as what’s on view inside the galleries and museums is the chance to see your ship come in at the Julia Street Cruise Terminal, which serves as a wistful reminder of the city’s historic maritime prominence.
