I liked the hotel and the room...bit dark as others have said but unique. My only real complaint of the room was the pillows. For a 3 star property the pillows are the old motel 6 type of foam pillows! They need to upgrade their pillows to reflect the quality of the hotel. Also, had to eat breakfast at the...

We were on a motorcycle trip and camping everywhere we went but the weather was very hot and humid so we made very last minute reservations for two nights from the campground we were going to stay at. We arrived to a very kind and friendly front desk who even upgraded our room when he found out our circumstances. They...

I stayed at this hotel for a week during a convention. Staff was awesome, rooms were clean. I would certainly return if I was in the area again. I highly recommend the Whitney if you visit New Orleans.

I just stayed at this hotel for the weekend. I liked the location and the price I paid, however what I did not like was the low water presure and the A/C going out on us overnight on both days. We contacted the front desk and informed them of the situation with the AC, they told us someone will come...

Stayed at The Whitney for two nights and had a fabulous stay! The staff could not have been more helpful, providing great suggestions for dinner and advice on transportation. The location is close to the conference center yet removed enough that you are close to many key areas in the city. The rooms are clean, lots of space and well...

One of the best hotels in NOLA. 3 short blocks from Canal Street. No problem walking at night. The Whitney night staff offered an up grade. The corner room was perfect. Overlooked Camp and Poydras Streets all the way to Canal Street. The nightly rate was very very reasonable and the room was clean and well decorated. Wife and I...

Absolutely fantastic. The hotel is a converted bank and it boasted original furniture and converted safes in to rooms. The staff were wonderful (Anthony in the restaurant always looked after us very well in particular) and their hospitality made our trip truly memorable. The rooms are also traditional with iron & ironing board (I was pleased as it was a...

I was staying at the Whitney for 4 nights and had an absolutely incredible time. The front desk staff were incredible and a huge help - I had multiple packages arriving throughout my stay. Very cool building that is an old bank. The service was phenomenal and the rooms were spacious with all the necessary amenities. The location was great too, as the hotel is a 10 minute walk from the downtown area. The hotel is also within walking distance to the main conference centers, so whether you are in New Orleans for business...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
