VERY kind and friendly staff; good food in the restaurant. The hotel could use updated soda machines and maybe one on each floor. Can't say enough about the quality of staff. Everybody very helpful- even called a cab for me for the next morning's departure. I would stay at the Whitney again.

- The hotel is a re-purposed bank. We had a "Premium Queen Suite," which was actually a two-room double suite. The space was small but OK. The room was in need of aesthetic repair. When the A/C turned on, it blew right onto the bed. - The location is fantastic, midway between the Garden District and the Quarter. - They...

It was my wedding night and the bed was hard a a rock. I have never tried sleep on such a terrible bed. Look elsewhere for a place to stay. It is not worth the money. The rooms definitely need updating; the carpet was coming. Also the AC very antiquated.

Incredibly beautiful hotel. We enjoyed our stay and the staff was always very accommodating and friendly! Great location with tons of nearby restaurants and easy access to any other area of town. We will definitely be back in the future.

Really nice historic building with tons is history. Unfortunately I had a room with no view. My son wanted to see a view during our FaceTime conversation and was disappointed. I felt closed in and uncomfortable.

This is a very nice place to stay when in town for business. The staff did everything they could to ensure I had everything I needed during my stay. They went above and beyond! I will stay here during my next trip to the city!

Room was not thoroughly cleaned from previous stay. Air conditioner did not cool off the room. Room temp did not fall below 77 degrees. Bathroom floor was not clean. It was sticky with dirty footprints. Glass top coffee table had drink rings and other debris from the previous stay.

Excellent, friendly front desk staff. Hoorah to Earl! Even indulged us so we could pose and take portraits inside historic Bank Vault. A bit far from French Quarter but within walking distance. As a result, you get both the proximity to where the actions are and the peace and quiet after returning. If romantic setting is in the air, room...

I would probably never stay here again or refer to anybody. Sorry it might have just been bad luck for me that day. I just thought there was no communication from management to the employees. Not a bad place may had just not been my day here.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, clean and good/safe location. Within walking distance of the french quarter and all major sight seeing places. Within walking district to the streetcar also. Only complaints is thin walls, so can be loud and no fridge in room so we couldn't bring drinks or leftovers with us. Otherwise, I'd highly recommend it!

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
