A beautiful property, just one street from Bourbon Street, yet a world away. Quiet, beautifully furnished, with a lovely central courtyard, including a swimming pool. Overall a great place to stay with true Southern Charm!.

A sanctuary amoungst the incessant Mardi Gras chaos. Behind the non-descript front door lies a peaceful maze of garden walls and private courtyards. Stunning and private cottages surround a heated pool and communal pool house perpetually filled with food and wine. Served and attended by in the wonderful staff led by Maria, Courtnie, Alfred and Gloria. Enjoy a glass of...

The property is beautiful; an idyllic oasis in one of the best locations in the French Quarter. The pictures on the website do not adequately convey how nice the place is. Large suites, old brick architecture, lush vegetation, heated salt water pool. The beds and linens very comfortable. Everything First Class. The best thing about Audubon Cottages is the staff....

Jim M, You're right--there is no photo that can truly capture the magic of the property, so we figure such a dazzling review is second-best. It is our pleasure to provide, and we're so glad your Mardi Gras party went so well. It was a thrill an an honor for us to serve and assist, and we'll be looking very...

We recently were invited to celebrate Mardi Gras festivities with business associates from the DC area. Everything was perfectly planned ahead of time including the accommodations at the Audubon Cottages which were fabulous. Behind the gated doorway entrance was a lovely private walkway into a courtyard with swimming pool which we used a lot. The grounds are planted beautifully with...

This is a very beautiful place to stay and although it's in the center of the French Quarter, it feels far away from the chaos. Butler Brian told us all the fun places to go and we did everything he suggested. Butler Maria was quite wonderful, too. Thanks for a great weekend.

Staff is excellent. The property is an oasis from the hustle and bustle of the French Quarter. The complimentary breakfast is a great way to start the day (or end it if you've been partying too hard). Highly recommended.

My husband and I took our two 20 something sons to New Orleans over the Christmas holiday. Our first attempt at giving each other memories as opposed to gifts for this celebration of love. The Audubon Cottages were the perfect match for our sometimes disparate needs. Close enough to the French Quarter so that our sons could celebrate all things...

I have a tendency of booking name brand hotels, so I was a little skeptical of staying at Audobon Cottages. My wife and I had a wonderful time! The room (Cottage 7) was great. The grounds were immaculate. The location is within walking distance to everything. Above everything else was the staff. They were truly great and it shows they...

What a surprise, hidden away in the midst of the Quarter! Private cottages, multiple bedrooms, period furniture, heated pool and Real French Quarter architecture, with exposed interior bricks and timbers. Breakfasts were hot, with just about anything you would want. Bathrooms were very nicely appointed and spacious. Our phones did not work tho, and I was disappointed to learn that...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
