We had a wonderful Easter stay at the Audobon Cottages, a little green oasis in the middle of the French Quarters. Even before our arrival, the staff had been wonderful about organizing our visit - recommending & reserving restaurants & tours. During our stay, the staff was consistently charming and attentive to every detail insuring our stay was perfect. Thank...

We took a couple of two bedroom suites to accommodate our family and it was perfect! The suites were cool with living rooms to meet and comfortable bedrooms. The location is superb! The pool in the courtyard was perfect for the kids. Old world charm with modern conveniences.

EdStory, As romantic and mystifying as the property is, there is perhaps a tendency to overlook its potential for families. Seclusion from the commotion of the city combined with the open layout of the courtyards and cottages within the property make for a perfect family getaway--safe, intimate, comfortable... We're glad you all liked it. See you next time!!

The hotel has no formal lobby but rather a simple gate from Dauphine St that you can open with your room key, entering a tunnel of greenery giving onto the main, pool patio. Smaller courtyards branch off the main patio, each with a gated archway entrance. The cottages open off these smaller courtyards. We stayed in cottage #7,which shares a...

Staff was generous and welcoming. Great suggestions for activities - including a terrific customized historic tour (504 Experiences). Cottages were lovely. Pool was inviting - hard to leave - cannot beat the location. And there was a supermodel AND a rock star staying there. What more can I say?

Dear Steinford, We try to make sure there are always supermodels and rockstars wandering the premises--it really improves the aesthetic. (I kid.) We're glad you enjoyed it, though. It's a special place with a real tendency to capture hearts. Glad you enjoyed your city tour, too. Come back and see us again soon!

This was our first visit to Audubon Cottages and it was wonderful. We found this place after a search of elopement packages. Sent out an email asking a few questions and decided it was the perfect place for us. We had cottage 4 which has the largest private courtyard, this 2 story cottage was everything you think of when you...

A sanctuary amoungst the incessant Mardi Gras chaos. Behind the non-descript front door lies a peaceful maze of garden walls and private courtyards. Stunning and private cottages surround a heated pool and communal pool house perpetually filled with food and wine. Served and attended by in the wonderful staff led by Maria, Courtnie, Alfred and Gloria. Enjoy a glass of...

The property is beautiful; an idyllic oasis in one of the best locations in the French Quarter. The pictures on the website do not adequately convey how nice the place is. Large suites, old brick architecture, lush vegetation, heated salt water pool. The beds and linens very comfortable. Everything First Class. The best thing about Audubon Cottages is the staff....

Jim M, You're right--there is no photo that can truly capture the magic of the property, so we figure such a dazzling review is second-best. This is a very beautiful place to stay and although it's in the center of the French Quarter, it feels far away from the chaos. Butler Brian told us all the fun places to go and we did everything he suggested. Butler Maria was quite wonderful, too. Thanks for a great weekend.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
