There are not enough words to describe the beauty of the location, the generosity of both Cindy and her assistant who helps maintain the beauty, the true southern hospitality, the location, the suggestions of where to venture and where to be weary. I don't think we could have picked a better location to celebrate!!! You guys are the bomb digity...

Monrose Row is a successful marriage of contradictions: authentic and gentrified, primitive and elegant, rustic and comfortable. Cindy, the owner, is a true New Orleanian with impeccable taste who has created an oasis of local color with sophisticated decor and a marvelous collection of "visionary" art. Beds are clean and comfortable, plumbing and ac/heat are modern, breakfast is home-cooked and...

Four of us from UK stayed at Cindy's lovely home for five nights. It was an ideal choice for location peaceful and yet close to the action. The rooms were extremely comfortable and well furnished and Cindy allowed us free use of her kitchen for that essential cup of tea that we English need for survival! Cindy's advice was very...

I stayed at the Montrose Row B&B with a group of womenfriends. We LOVED every detail of the place: the classy, artsy, uncluttered rooms; the utterly delicious breakfasts; the location in the super-cool (yet quiet) Treme neighborhood; and the proprietress, Cindy, who never steered us wrong with suggestions of special places to visit and eat. There are not great views...

We're heading back to New Orleans and Monrose Row next month! I tried to open my last review to show my husband which room we were staying in and couldn't believe I had never posted one. So apologies for being tardy. Several years back we decided to visit New Orleans every November for our anniversary. After staying at Monrose Row...

Great breakfast too.We told Cindy in advance that my husband is gluten free and I am dairy free, she made wonderful gluten free muffins and I had almond milk to choose from. We both felt very taken care of. Monrose...

Neighbourhood Profile
That sound? That flavor? That certain je ne sais quoi that lets you known you’re in “Nawlins” and nowhere else? It’s all good and in broad abundance on the streets of Tremé, where so much of what’s considered to be the very best of New Orleans culture and tradition is, put simply, just how people go about their daily lives in this historic part of town. As one of America’s oldest African-American neighborhoods and among the nation’s first established residential areas for free people of color, Tremé’s significant heritage and contribution cannot be understated. This is especially the case when considering some of Tremé’s most famous residents, most notably jazz great Louis Armstrong. For full flavored food, funky and jazzed up music, and vibrant street life presented with homegrown pride, you can’t beat a visit to Tremé.
