I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend stay at Monrose Row B&B in March, 2017. I decided to stay at this particular B&B after giving Cindy a call and inquiring about rooms and availability. It was my first time in New Orleans and it was important that I find a place that was close to town, and safe. Cindy was so warm...

Great birthday getaway! I happened upon this gem when booking a spur of the moment surprise trip for my spouse's bday! This was our first time to NOLA and was a bit nervous on where to book. I read all the great reviews and decided to trust those reviews! I am glad I did! It was a perfect place to...

We have been staying at Cindy's every January for the past seven years, and she has never disappointed! Everything is fantastic. I cannot really add much to what the other reviews have already said. The house is beautiful, the breakfasts are great, and Cindy’s stories of how the city has evolved over the past 40 years are amazing. Make a...

My sister and I spent an absolutely fantastic 4 days in New Orleans mostly due to our fortune in finding Cindy and her hidden gem! Cindy has raised the bar as to what a B and B experience should be like: delicious and personalized food, a perfectly decorated estate, every need thought of (even a flat iron in the bathroom),...

We stayed with Cindy for the second time over the weekend and again were delighted by the experience. The property is stunning -- every room full of beautiful objects and captivating art. Breakfast is a dream with fresh-baked muffins, homemade granola, fruits, and jam, alongside a main dish. And Cindy is such wonderful company. You can't go wrong with her...

This review is looooong overdue, I'm ashamed to say, as we actually stayed here in November 2015. It was also my first stay at a B&B and I have to say that Cindy raised the bar for all others. Now that I've stayed at other places over the last year, I can really compare. Monrose Row is the most stylish...

Just a couple blocks from French Quarter. We walked everywhere. Cindy can tell you anything about New Orleans you would like to know. This was our second time here. Just wanted to get away for the Thanksgiving Holiday. Nothing like staying in a place with great history as well as style from the gardens to the shops or even the...

I have never stayed at the B&B before and did not know what to expect. Cindy was very helpful in letting us know what to do and where to eat. Our suite was beautiful. Every morning Cindy would prepare gourmet breakfast. When we left for the airport at 4 am, Cindy left us our breakfast which she prepared earlier. We...

Monrose Row Guesthouse is brilliantly located in the TREME area. We parked in front and never drove again, until we left. Easily walkable to the French Quarter, Jackson Square, Louis Armstrong Park and all the fun stuff to do. Our host, Cindy was a warm host and full of the latest information, and makes a great breakfast every morning. Our...

Great location far enough away from the madness, but close enough to walk to it. Room was fantastic, but bed was a bit small and high for our liking. Cindy also really helpful and gave us great tips about the area. Recommended.

Staying in Treme

Neighbourhood Profile
Treme
That sound? That flavor? That certain je ne sais quoi that lets you known you’re in “Nawlins” and nowhere else? It’s all good and in broad abundance on the streets of Tremé, where so much of what’s considered to be the very best of New Orleans culture and tradition is, put simply, just how people go about their daily lives in this historic part of town. As one of America’s oldest African-American neighborhoods and among the nation’s first established residential areas for free people of color, Tremé’s significant heritage and contribution cannot be understated. This is especially the case when considering some of Tremé’s most famous residents, most notably jazz great Louis Armstrong. For full flavored food, funky and jazzed up music, and vibrant street life presented with homegrown pride, you can’t beat a visit to Tremé.
