Stopped in Ritz to go to Lounge. Soaking wet, lots of rain. Sat down, asked Katie B for towel. She brought 2 large bath for my wife and I to dry off. Thanks. The music, Davenport, was wonderful, great drinks, appetizers. Beautiful hotel, next time we stay there.

As a tourist, unless you know from personal experience that you want a massage at The Ritz, ask your concierge at your motel FIRST! They can recommend other places that are just as nice and way more AFFORDABLE! Like someone else said, "Not everybody is made of money." I thought I knew what I was doing and booked a couple's...

The room was nice, not great. The facilities were okay. The second day that we stayed at the hotel, was a problem. I returned at 1:00 and asked that the room be cleaned and left to get out of the way. I came back at 3:00 and returned to a room that was untouched. 4:30 rolled around and still no...

attended a conference at this hotel and was extremely impressed. The staff were attentive and friendly. Our every need was met. the property is older but has a classic elegance. loved the courtyard for an evening cocktail. As 1st timers to New Orleans we were unsure of where exactly to stay but after a week at the Ritz we were VERY pleased. From the moment of our arrival thru departure everything exceeded our expectations. Very welcoming & friendly staff, helpful doormen & concierge, wonderfully attentive housekeeping with turndown, top notch breakfast buffet, relaxing center courtyard, large bathrooms,...

We loved our stay here for one night. Very comfortable beds. Delish breakfast, they have a full buffet (with made to order omelettes) but we ordered from the menu. I had a Bloody Mary (spicy, but good) and Eggs Benedict. The service at breakfast was pretty slow. Easy check in and check out. Valet responded very quickly. Very very friendly...

Our third visit to this marvelous hotel did not disappoint. Though we travel widely and often, we haven't encountered any hotel/resort or similar property where the staff is more attentive, well-trained, focused on guests or knowledgeable. Though the hotel was extremely busy, service never lagged. Our room was spectacular and access to the club lounge provided excellent food, drinks and...

We had a recent stay at the Ritz in New Orleans. While I've been to New Orleans many times, this was the first time I stayed at the Ritz. This was also my wife's first visit to New Orleans. We booked the stay through the Amex Platinum fine hotels and resorts program. Service, from the moment we arrived, was impeccable....

This hotel is a great find - it is within walking distance of the French Quarter, but quiet and luxurious. The rooms were beautifully decorated; the staff was welcoming and very helpful. We loved the music at night, and the outdoor courtyard for dining!

Beautiful property, including an interior courtyard. Great rooms and a fantastic location a few blocks from Bourbon Street. The staff is great as well. The lounge has a really good jazz act on Thursdays (maybe other nights too, I was not there that long). This place really has a lot too offer and if it's within your budget, don't think...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
