Highly recommend the Rose Manor. The room was very clean and amenities were modern and well cared for. Breakfast options are plentiful, from simple yogurt and fruit to eggs and bacon or sausage, with waffles or french toast in between. The location is quiet and...More
The rooms are spacious, updated and clean. The proprietors are wonderful. They are warm and friendly and couldn't do enough for us. If we ever have the opportunity to go back to New Orleans we will definitely stay here. Close to everything but far enough...More
This B&B is wonderful in every way. The owners, Ruby and Peter Verhoeven, made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Our room was large, with a big, comfortable king-size bed, and the bathroom was very modern, and appeared to have been recently renovated....More

Lakeview extends inland from the shores of Lake Pontchartrain with much of the area reserved for family-friendly City Park. Home to the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Besthoff Sculpture Garden, Carousel Gardens Amusement Park, and the city’s own lush Botanical Gardens, City Park is a New Orleans gem and the perfect spot for outdoor fun with as much of a mix of culture and/or amusement as you would like. It is about 15 minutes in a car. I think public transportation (buses) is possible but I have not used it....so, not sure how far away is the bus stop and how long it would take to get into the downtown area. Do not hesitate calling Ruby and/or Peter (the owners) and asking them.....they will certainly know. Hope this helps.
