This is one of the best B&B's we have ever stayed in! The hosts (Ruby and Pete) are the nicest people on the planet. They made us feel right at home and were very knowledgeable about area events, attractions, and restaurants. Our room (the Maple room) was wonderful. The bed was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. There was a sitting...

We stayed three nights in Rose Manor and it was really excellent choice. It is a charming B & B. The host and hostess introduced us to the other guests, and made an effort that everybody should feel at home. We liked everything. It is easy to take the car to center, 10 minutes and very close to the airport....

We really enjoyed our stay at the Rose Manor B&B. The period furniture and decore was a treat, and Ruby and Peter greeted us warmly, and made us feel at home. The breakfasts to order were great, and the room was clean and roomy. Peter recommended a lake shore walk at sunset and the view was indeed unexpectedly beautiful.

Peter and his wife are wonderful hosts. The place is lovely. It's decorated antique, very comfortable and very clean. There is free wifi. Peter prepares a good breakfast. I definitely recommend this place and will stay there again on my next visit to the city.

We really enjoyed our stay at Rose Manor. Large and immaculate room, very comfortable bed/pillows, large TV, and little extras like dimmers for the lights and power strip for charging all our electronic gizmos. Ruby and Peter are excellent hosts. We know where we'll stay next time we go to New Orleans.

Staying in Lakeview

Neighbourhood Profile
Lakeview extends inland from the shores of Lake Pontchartrain with much of the area reserved for family-friendly City Park. Home to the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Besthoff Sculpture Garden, Carousel Gardens Amusement Park, and the city’s own lush Botanical Gardens, City Park is a New Orleans gem and the perfect spot for outdoor fun with as much of a mix of culture and/or amusement as you would like. Beyond City Park more great excuses to stay outside beckon, whether on land or by boat. Developed a good deal later than most other New Orleans neighborhoods, Lakeview has a distinctively different look and feel compared to other parts of the city. Fans of mid century modern design and contemporary architecture particularly enjoy leisurely drives around the residential streets of Lake Vista, Park Island and along Lakeshore Drive.
