We were only one block from the nightlife but could sleep without hearing the noise. The rooms are great and the courtyard was an oasis of peace and beauty. There is a friendly all night diner across the street and a laundromat next door. The price is very reasonable and the owners are wonderful. We will be coming back and...

Chuck and Bruce were so helpful for our first experience in the "Gay New Orleans" area. Upon our arrival they invited us up to their private quarters for a cocktail and assisted us with plans for our stay. They provided a map of the "best" gay bars and information on places to eat nearby. Having your own concierge for New...

I was concerned about been right on Bourbon Street. But the suite was great! My sister and slept like babies. Then we had breakfast around the corner at Petite Emilie. Yum. Chuck was so welcoming, I truly felt a guest.

The bon maison is in a great location on boubon st but just far enough away to not get any of the late night noise. The rooms are comfortable however the 2 bed suite is not 2 seperate rooms. Its one bedroom and a converted lounge room so if privacy is an issue this will not be for you...get two...

After being on the crowded and hectic streets of the French Quarter it was such a pleasure to open the gate and go through to the quietude of the courtyard. Seeing Chuck was a bonus. He was helpful...even drove with my husband to find the parking place. He was always hospitable and seemed glad to see everyone who was a...

The reviews you've read about Bon Maison are quite accurate. My partner and I stayed in unit B - the closest room to the main gate - and, gulp . . . . Bourbon Street. If you're intent to hang out in your room and watch TV at night, this isn't the best room choice - stay in one of...

The Bon Maison Guest House, located in the heart of New Orleans' French Quarter, offers a nice combination of historic charm, great location, and value for travelers wanting to spend some time in this part of New Orleans. First, the location: anyone who has spent time on Bourbon Street might be justified in thinking you would have to be out...

My wife and I stayed with some friends in the two bedroom suite. We stayed during French Quarter Fest. We travel to Nola a couple times a year, and might have found our new favorite place to stay. When we arrived, Chuck greeted us and gave us a tour. He answered all the question we had, and made us fill...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
