Perfect place. Been staying there for years now. Love bringing out of town quests there as well as local friends/fmly. Love the balcony rooms. Enjoy the pool and hot tub access. Have developed friendships with some of the staff because they make you feel so appreciated. Alex especially. Looking forward to my next visit. I am a local from New...

Great location among the music of Frenchmen St and a few minutes walk from Bourbon St. Near the Mississippi river and one of the streetcars. Good if snug room in an old but sound building, friendly helpful staff, some car parking available, breakfast rather minimal.

David, Thank you so much for commenting. We are rather beautifully located. The breakfast is continental, so by definition really just a starter. We are so happy that you like our establishment and hope to see again soon.

John, So happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay. I was good of you to write. True we don't have an elevator. Old family homes such as ours didn't really make room for such items, though it is only one floor. Happy to hear that you'd come again and we very much look forward to your next visit. It's...

I stayed in a 2 Queen room for 1 night in April 2016 with a friend. First, this is one of the best locations in the city in the Marigny. It's out of the tourist trap of the French Quarter but walking distance to countless bars & restaurants between the Quarter and the more authentic area of the Bywater. Just...

Leslie, Thank you so much for taking the time to write. April is a lovely month here and definitely one of our busiest. The reason you found the breakfast 'lacking' is because it simply continental and given the extraordinary restaurants in the local area we don't really need more than that which gets you going in the morning. So happy...

Just hang by Frenchmen street, best street in the French quarter, you'll have your pick of bars, music clubs and restaurants. The hotel is perfect is the main goal of your visit is to listen to great jazz and enjoy great cuisine. Great helpful staff and a building with lots of character. Pros: staff are vey nice Cons: room smells like mildew; bathroom is extremely cramped; breakfast (bagal) was hard and stale and no cereal; extremely loud at night (i am not talking about outside of the hotel), people who were staying in the hotel were extremely loud (i guess new orleans is a party place after all). The hotel quiet time...

Maggie, Sorry to hear that your stay was not what you expected. We work hard to make our guests' stay pleasant. The parking is unfortunately not something we can fix in an historic district. We do hope you expressed to the front desk your distress with the noise level inside the hotel. The front desk agent should have taken care...

This place was exactly what we wanted for our New Orleans trip. It was in a perfect spot next to tons of music and bars. The building and rooms were very authentic looking to the city. Everything was within walking distance too.

This was our third time staying at the Frenchman. We haven't ever been disappointed. It's location is perfect providing acess to both the Quarter and the Marigny. Plus, with a streetcar stop just a short stroll away you can get to anywhere in the city you would care to go.

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
