We ate here (did not stay here tho) with 7 family members and they were very accomodating seating us all. The food was very good and the atmosphere was busy, but fun! The waiters were also very attentive and we had great service.

We stayed in the La Sirena suite in the loft space of the R Bar. It is open plan, a gorgeously furnished space with a super comfortable bed. You do have to climb the 3 sets of stairs but that is part of the adventure. Some people may be put off by the shower/bathroom area being part of the open...

This is by far my favorite place to stay when I visit New Orleans. I'm 38/female and this place is safe. I felt perfectly comfortable staying here by myself the first night. I stayed in the Storyville Suite upstairs. It's at the far end of the house, opposite the bar. I never heard a thing from the bar while inside...

We stayed in the royal suite - it was huge, more of an apartment than a suite. If it had a cooker you could live there. It had a separate bedroom with a gorgeous bed and a spacious bathroom with two wash basins. The living area had sofas and chairs, a dining table, a huge bed, music system, full size...

Two things: The most comfortable bed in the world and the most UNcomfortable couch bed in the world. The hotel was actually lovely. Loved the hardwood floors, decor and the bathroom was really nice with a stand up tiled shower and incredible shower head. Room service left you ear plugs, in case the bar downstairs got too loud and lovely...

This isn't just my favorite bar in NOLA; it's probably my favorite in the whole world. Having said that, I don't understand what more a person could possibly ask for in a bar. When I'm in New Orleans, I spend a lot of time drinking here, and if there is a room available upstairs, I stay here. The location is...

We stayed in Storyville for two nights at the start of our honeymoon. The journey from London had been pretty awful and the airline had lost my husband's bag (delivered at around 2am) but what a treat to sink into this comfy bed for a little while before nipping downstairs for a couple of beers and a chat to the...

Traditional NOLA architecture with just the right amount of up-dates/modern touches. perfect location for wandering through the quarter or marigny. Much more laid back vibe than bourbon and a lot less touristy. Free drink tokens on the pillow is a great touch. Even though you are above a bar, it wasn't noisy or bothersome at all. The balcony is perfect...

Took a trip to the big easy, with some college mates, for the first time in February. Decided on the Royal Street Inn due to its location and pricing. The Inn and the R Bar downstairs did not let us down. Our room was amazing, with a huge balcony as well as a hop skip and a stumble to the...

My husband and I were preparing to visit New Orleans for the first time and were undecided as to what're to stay. We wanted someplace close to the Quarter and Frenchman St that felt safe for walking. We called up a local friend who immediately suggested the RBar. The RBar did not disappoint! It was exactly what we were looking...

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
