My wife and I have never stayed at a bed and breakfast with my children, ages 14 and 18. They have traveled with us frequently but we were tentative about how they would feel about a B&B. Nevertheless, one of our goals was to introduce them to a new experience. We also wanted more room for them to spread out...

I stayed here with my husband and son. The best thing was not paying for parking as don and Harry let us use their pass. The rooms were very large and because another guest had decided to stay an extra night, we were moved into the large suite (#5 I believe). Overall a great visit

I found this small bnb (six rooms)here and in VRBO. The comments were good, price seemed right($125/nite,total) so we booked. We arrived in early evening and both our hosts Harry and Don helped us unload our luggage and introduced us to Suite 1, one of the two front suites on main floor. It was very nice with lots of antiques,...

Visited with family over the Easter weekend. We were disappointed that the hosts were not present for the majority of our stay, as the reviews here spoke so highly of them. They were only present fleetingly during our stay, I suspect in their absence the service, attention to detail and ambiance as described in other reviews was missing. For us...

Don and Harry and the girls, their adorable and very well behaved dachshunds, made our stay memorable. We enjoyed our very quiet garden room in this historic home, the great "help yourself" breakfasts. It was fun meeting the other guest as they wandered into the kitchen while we were choosing between home made scones or quiche, coffee cakes or just...

We absolutely loved staying here. The hosts go out of their way to please, and are very knowledgeable of all things Nawlins. The rooms and furnishings are eclectic and very tasteful. The home is old, 1836 I believe, so it's not the Hilton, but it's way better. You will feel at home as if you are visiting the home of...

We all know how tricky it is to choose the right place to call home away from home when we travel! I was in NoLa for my 50th with friends and Maison de Lagniappe proved to be ideal for our small group. Don and Harry are amazing hosts, and will make your visit one you will not forget. You will...

After spending weeks reviewing options for lodging in New Orleans we finally settled on Maison de Lagniappe, a Bed-and-Breakfast historic home in the Creole neighborhood of Marigny. And we have no regrets! This is the perfect spot if you love live music, enjoy walking, and want to feel like you are staying in the real New Orleans. Don and Harry...

Nice, clean room within walking distance of French Quarter. Friendly, helpful owners. Had a wonderful stay and would stay there again.

We really enjoyed staying at Maison de Lagniappe: we've normally stayed in hotels in New Orleans, but were looking for something more unconventional and fun -- we definitely found it! This B&B is a fun way to go, definitely more social, and it felt more "authentic" - especially because we were trying to experience the real New Orleans. Here's the...

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.

“The Garden Room is nice and quiet, being it's at ground level and away from the rest of the rooms. Mini-fridge is a nice touch. The bathroom isn't huge, but it isn't tiny, either...perfectly adequate. We'd stay in this room again.”

“Suites 1,2 and 5 are best if you want extra room to spread out a bit. All have private access in of the house.”

“We liked the extra room and sitting area in Suite 1 and could look out onto the street if we wanted. We had a sofabed too, but the bathroom being small, would make it more crowded for more than two.”
