I arrived at 10:20AM and had warned that I would want to check in early. The desk clerk simply said, "Check in is at 3PM." I knew that and was not trying to demand anything different, but at the same time, it should be a simple task to ask housekeeping to do my room next, since no one else was... More

The location is near UW Madison campus and it's one of the most reasonable price that perfect for campus-related events. It is also near the State St and Lake Mendota which will give you perfect Madison experience. The bed is big enough for standard room and the breakfast was ok. But I feel the room is too cold for non-US... More

My colleagues and I stayed 2 nights here for a conference. The location is terrific for downtown and university campus. Our conference was a 2 minutes walk to the Pyle Center. Rooms are a bit outdated but comfortable and clean. We had breakfast included in our rate and it had some cereal, tea, coffee, juice, yoghurt and also hard boiled... More

I have stayed here a few times and there is a significant difference between a deluxe and regular room. This time I did a deluxe and I would never go back to a standard room again. The deluxe are renovated with new bathrooms and climate control. Lots of tv channels. Breakfast was ok. Appreciated the fresh eggs. Sausage was overcooked.

Have stayed here several times. Nothing fancy. A bit dated. But you can't beat the location just off State Street and Lake Mendota. Excellent breakfast. It's for people on university business and parents of students. Not well known, which means you have a chance of getting a room on a weekend.

While the location of the Lowell Center (and the free breakfast) is great, I had a lot of problems with my rooms. The first room I was assigned to was on the first floor, and the TV did not work. There was also no AC, but they had a sufficient fan, so that was not a huge issue. The biggest... More

I stayed here for an educational workshop and only because the organization booked it. Most rooms are dated, in need of repair and have no air conditioning or is controlled by the staff for the entire wing. Most people were either too hot or too cold. The topic of several days of the workshop was "is your room cold?". My... More

The Lowell Center is not really a hotel; it's a dorm that accepts short term paying guests. It was built as a dorm and still effectively functions as one. Rooms lack individual control over temperature (some have space heaters). Carpeting is old, worn, and somewhat dirty. There are few electrical outlets. The bathrooms are dorm bathrooms -- institutional and cold.... More

Dear Jes G, Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm certainly very sorry you had a less-than-excellent experience with us. Our convenient location is one of our perks as a hotel right on campus. You can't beat the location and price - better than expected breakfast as well! Strong wifi, clean and well appointed. Request top floor facing lake - best views. 1 block from State Street and near the food trucks. Book a parking permit early so you can park on their ramp.
