It was a beautiful experience to stay in this property. The staff was courteous and room was spacious and well-lit. Hotel is located right in the middle of the city and the location makes everything accessible for the guests staying in the hotel. The few from the window of the hotel room gives glimpses of the well developed colonial architecture of the city. A perfectly manicured landscape of the hotel adds to the picturesque setting of the surroundings. The buffet was quite elaborated with all the varieties and dishes were nicely done. Overall a must stay property in Nuwara Eliya.

Spent two nights at the Green Hills. The room was large enough for three and comfortable (good beds, towels, and very clean) and the restaurant staff were very friendly and they tried very hard to make our half-board meals special (you choose among menu options as there was no buffet, possibly due to low occupancy during the economic crisis here). We were satisfied with all meals. The hotel also arranged tasty package breakfasts to go for a day trip to Horton Plains (highly recommend a hike there).
The room lacked a working safe and toilet paper at check in but both were quickly resolved. We were also perplexed why they gave us a room facing the rear of the hotel even after we requested something with a nicer view. The hotel was nearly empty so it seemed an easy request to accommodate. It was great to have uninterrupted electricity in the room but many hallways were pretty dim, or dark, which we can’t really fault them for during this period of poor electricity supply. Location was convenient for town walks and we had a short ride to St Andrews Hotel for high tea, which was a treat.

Stayed at this property for one night but loved everything. Starting with beauty of the place Nuwara Eliya, the hotel location is little remote away from the main street traffic. The welcome drink of hot chocolate was refreshing. Rooms very well appointed with toiletries and heating arrangements. Bedside Master consort for managing all room lighting. Bath robe and slippers available.
Food was one of the best that we had in Sri Lanka. Special thanks to the chefs. All smiling and churning hot delicacies in front of the guest be it 'Roti Station' or ' Dosa / Appam station'.
Well lit at night the property can be a good place to hang out.
Very Happy for this stay.

We stayed on the 6th night of our TUI discovery tour. We were welcomed with a cup of hot chocolate and flower garlands and made to feel very welcome. The entrance hall and lounges are very impressive exuding a feeling of quality. Our room was large with quality wooden furniture and a very comfortable bed. The dinner and breakfast spread was delicious and the food here was kept very hot. The only thing that disappointed was the bar which was located in a dark basement along with 2 pool tables and the whole area wasn’t very inviting. The wine bar was closed . Apart from the bar this was a lovely place to stay.

Having travelled through the cool tea plantations, we chose to stay at the Araliya Green Hills Hotel, prior to catching the train down to Ella. The hotel was very comfortable and lived up to its 4 star billing, however one thing definitely stood out - the food! I have, over the years, been fortunate to stay in many 5 star hotels but in that time have never seen a more impressive buffet anywhere in the world. Not only was the range and choice phenomenal but the sheer quantity in no way affected the quality of the food which was exceptional. Praise should go to the Executive Chef, who was from Nuwara Eliya and trained in Colombo. He and his staff provided something to be proud of and the only drawback is the effect on your waistline if you stay too long!

Highly recommend this hotel for staying at Nuwara Elia Staff are very friendly(Special Thanks goes to Mr. Ravi and Mr. Kalum), Polite and most obliging. We stayed in the property for 2 nights. We were a group of 6 and were in 2 different rooms - deluxe category.
The rooms were clean, bedding was super comfortable and the views from the room were nice. The washrooms were clean n the property provided enough toiletries on both days. The room has an option to choose from music channels and it was soothing.
Dinning area was spacious and had lots of variety in the menu. Entire group with seniors n toddler relished the food, breakfast and dinner. Dessert spread is just too good and lot of varieties in veggies too.
Swimming pool is indoor n pre heated, however we felt water could have been a bit more warmer. Guy at the swimming pool did not seem friendly and had a No for everything we asked.

Pathetic to describe their small "pond" as a swimming pool. The scope to expand the pool is very simple because the badly located bar has to be relocated and the pool expanded. For breakfast, there was zero variation during the 4 days we stayed there. While the staff are very courteous, small requirements like baggage collection seemed to take forever and the room was not ready though we reached at 3.00 pm.

This resort is located just walk-able distance from the Victoria park as well as the market place of the town. The facilities are good and the rooms are spacious. We will get some good shops inside this resort as well as good restaurants. Even you can walk for 100 meters from this place to get departmental stores as well as some more restaurants for different experience. We can even walk to the market place to buy fruits as well as some local items The rooms are having heaters to manage the temperature variations. We tried some room service. The food was good We have to leave the hotel very early on the next day. We called the reception and they packed our breakfast and kept it ready in the reception counter. They packed our food including our driver along with sufficient water bottles. Nice gesture from the hotel side.

I'm sure it's ok if you're lucky enough not to have problems. We have just left this place and of the three rooms, one had no electricity and had to be changed. In our room, to begin with the very weak shower could only deliver scalding hot water, a man came to address this and afterwards there was no hot water at all for the rest of our stay. When I told the manager about all this he apologised and offered precisely nothing in the way of recompense. The food was nice, the wine bar was allegedly open but all the lights were off, the doors were shut and it was deserted. There was a generally incompetent feel to things unlike all the other hotels we have stayed at in Sri Lanka including Colombo, Kandi and Gregory Lake. Again, if you have good luck you might enjoy your stay here but I hope you do not have any interactions with the management. They eventually offered £5 off two massages but I could not understand how this was relevant to not being able to shower.
