This is a very special place. Norm and Linda have painstakingly created a unique environment of lush trees with bungalows discreetly nestled in the landscape. If you’re after a resort with no intrusion from the environment then this isn’t for you. But if you love the feeling of hanging over a valley and don’t mind a few bugs and the odd gecko visiting you then you’ll love it. The staff are wonderful. Very friendly with excellent food mostly sourced from the organic garden. The bungalows are very private with own shower. No shampoo. Just body wash. Good beds. We really felt the world stop here. Had a massage on the first day. Would recommend the 3 hour guided walk up the mountain and back down through the farms. Learnt a lot about local farming and culture. And the cooking class was great!! There’s a lovely rock pool down many steep steps but worth the walk. They’re building a naturally filtered pool so that will be great when finished. We had 4 nights here as our first Bali stop and that was the perfect way to leave everything behind and unwind. Good priced souvenirs in the office. Highly recommended.

It is always such a pleasure to have guests such as yourselves, who appreciate our eco lodge and all that we have tried to create in terms of sustainable living (Environmentally, Socially and Economically). We really enjoyed having you & lovely family here and we really hope to see you again in the future :) PS: Our natural pool should be up and running early-mid March :)

Rustic rainforest experience in sublime comfort tucked under Mount Batukaru. We two adults took the homely two bedroom tree house bungalow which we didn’t want to leave. Aesthetic decor, fresh garden produced food incorporating forest herbs & complex flavours room delivered or served in the stylish restaurant, warm & attentive staff and many curated activities available which we partook of a guided forest walk & a driver/guided local village tour. This eco lodge is the perfect point of departure to discover a different Bali from the overworked coastline vibe. The hosts have created a beautiful balance of luxury & sustainability.

We stayed in Rumah Manis, which is the furthest room from the entrance (with many steps, which we expected from the website info) and it has the most wonderful view of the valley and beyond.
The food was also a highlight. There is a range of items available on the menu but I liked to choose whatever was highlighted as the day's special as it was always a skilfully curated blend of fresh ingredients and Balinese flavours.
This is such a good way to experience Bali away from the tourist crowds. The Eco Lodge offers a range of activities to explore the surrounding environment and gain insight into the life of the community, but it is also a wonderful place to rest and tune into the rhythm of the rainforest.
The Eco Lodge has worked hard to create an environmentally sustainable operation. It was a pleasure to experience it.

A beautifully nurtured family run Eco lodge which is a real oasis at which to relax, unwind and enjoy the true Bali. Staff are super friendly and helpful and the food is amazing cooked with care from ingredients grown in the lodge's own organic gardens. The bungalows are all set into the hillside at different levels and well apart from each other in the manicured (but not too so) gardens with wonderful views but retaining complete privacy. The natural water swimming pool is a delight and a pizza from the pizza oven is not to be missed. Abandon the frenetic crowds of Kuta, head up to the hills (the lodge can arrange transport for you) and relax in true Bali.

The place was nice and green however it rained a lot and the food was not good at all. They could not even make a descent nasi goreng which was supposed to be the easiest dish to make in indonesia. Also the owner tried to charge me an extra night even if she said it was free. She charged my friends an extra night that was meant to be free. Very dishonest.

Dear Berwin, If we are talking about honesty why didn't you let us know in advance your group would totally disrespect our staff, family and community as you took over our lodge for your New Years party. Bringing a sound system & DJ without asking - this is a quiet, natural area After several requests to turn it down we eventually shut your duff duff music down at 3.30am. You behaved like a bunch of selfish and inconsiderate teenagers. You brought four dogs without asking. Extra people stayed without asking. You basically took over our kitchen without asking. You were rude to us and to our staff. You trashed our restaurant. You over-consumed alcohol like you were partying in a nightclub.. which our eco lodge is definitely not. You disturbed our neighbours and ruined our new years eve.. you're lucky we didn't call the Authorities. The charges you refer to were for cancelled nights in 2 bungalows.

You’ve stumbled on a real gem here. On an island where every second hotel is calling itself an eco resort, this is the real deal. Lovingly crafted over 3 decades by a warm family who still live onsite, this is sustainable hospitality as an art form.
there are so many thing to admire about this place, the sustainable credentials are legit and recognised by many awards and the family's relationship to the local community is deep and mutually supportive. Regardless of your interest in green/social tourism this place in amazing. Each unique room feels like it's on its own in a jungle paradise, with incredible views over the canopy, there's the most beautiful natural chemical-free swimming pool in the whole of Bali and lovely little waterfalls deep in a small gorge that belong to the property. We stayed 3 nights but wish we could stay much longer, it felt like a home away from home.(if your home were a jungle eden) The owners and staff were wonderful hosts and so warm and relaxed with our hyperactive 2 years old. we'll be definitely back, the place is an inspiration of what can be created with enough love, time and hard work.other highlights included delicious garden to table veg and non- veg food, amazing wood fired pizza,rain-forest walks, beautiful bamboo yoga shala with 360 jungle views,a lovingly curated library of specialist books on plants, sustainability, travel and spirituality and next time we'll definitely have the massage and plant therapy that guests raved about.

Nestled in nature, amongst the breeze/mist/clouds (depending on day and weather) was a much-needed gateway from our previous city life. The bungalows are very comfortable and sleeping amongst the sounds of nature we felt recharged every day. We were fortunate to get a chance to stay here for a month and not a single day was boring. Our bungalow, Rumah Manis has sweeping views right down to Southern Bali and the tip of Uluwatu.

The restaurant was a fun place to hang out, especially when it rained to enjoy a pot of tea, to socialize or even to peruse a book from the on-site library. The food was great as it was prepared by talented and friendly local staff using fresh organic ingredients, most of which was from the garden. We met other guests who have since become friends, a sign that this place attracts nice people!

A couple of the biggest highlights for us were the crystal clear natural pool (perfect for a hot sunny day!) just a few steps down from the restaurant, and the great massage treatments available from the trained village women (ask for Ibu Rusi if you like it strong!).

The staff and the family who own and run the lodge are very friendly and are always willing to share their abundant knowledge of sustainable living and permaculture practices. They are indeed walking the talk. We came as strangers, we left as friends.

I stayed here for the second time. Spending a couple of nights here amidst the pandemic was much needed as an escape to nature. It was the perfect place to relax and I felt safe and well cared for. As last time, I enjoyed falling asleep to jungle noises, eating the flavorful meals cooked by the talented Indonesian staff and relaxing in my bungalow or by the new natural pool. This pool is the best natural pool I have seen so far! It was also lovely spending some time chatting with the family who built this place and hearing their stories. They're extremely knowledgeable.

As an eco lodge, it ticks almost all the boxes (nobody is perfect but Sarinbuana is pretty close to it!). They really care about their environmental impact while supporting the community via employment and tours sold at the lodge.

Again, highly recommend a peaceful stay here for any nature lover.

We stayed with friends and family for a total of 3 kids (9, 8, and 6) and 4 adults in two bungalows. The staff was warm and welcoming. The bungalows were cute and cozy. The kids loved the mosquito netting around the beds. The property is beautiful and has many thoughtful details such as the pool, koi pond, bamboo bale, etc. Clearly a lot of love and attention has gone into this place. A couple people in our group, including a kid, participated in a tour of the permaculture garden. And all kids helped the staff feed the animals. Our favorite activity was a guided temple walk (approx 5 km) with an amazing guide named Wayan. She clearly loves to teach and enjoys children, because she told us all about the plants and land as we walked, made leaf hats and umbrellas for the kids, and taught them to make stars and boxes from palm fronds. We also learned a lot about Hinduism and their temple. She helped us experience this while guiding us on how to be respectful while in the temple. Highly recommend this activity, especially with kids.

The food was amazing! We felt very well fed, because we loved every meal, 3 meals a day. The second night we requested a BBQ dinner, and as part of a cooking class we helped make the marinade for the chicken and other components of the meal. It turned out amazing and the cooking class, which my 9 year old helped with, was very fun. We enjoyed the food so much we asked them to make sandwiches for us to take with us the day we checked out.

As for the nature aspect, my sister and I were nervous because we both have an irrational fear of spiders and we weren’t sure what to expect with the open bungalows. I am sure there are spiders around but we didn’t see any. Our bungalow did have quite a few ants in the bathroom, but when we mentioned that we were given a bottle of vinegar to spray to keep down the number. As a moderately outdoorsy person, this was not a problem for me. The weather was very pleasant. We had doors and windows open most of the time, with long pants/sleeves at night. It lightly rained once.

In summary, this was a beautiful area and a truly wonderful experience. I highly recommend it.

We only had 3 nights at the Eco Lodge but 5 mins in we were wishing for more. This place is literally heaven on earth. You will fall in love with everything about it. You are up in the mountains so expect ants, mosquito's etc. It's all part of the wonder they have created. There's ant spray and mosquito nets provided. The bed was comfy , there is a mini bar with drinks, Vegan cheese and crackers, an incredible bathroom. And when the sun comes up you open your shutters to the most amazing view of the rai forest. There is so much to do you'll never have time to get to all the activities. Guided walks, carving, cooking, bike rides. A must do is a stroll down to the waterhole, a slice of heaven at the foot of a water fall. You can climb up to another waterhole above. The food in the Restaurant is amazing and almost everything is gathered from their own gardens. Each meal was a delight, and they cater for Gluten Free, Vegan, Vegetarian. Their staff are all beautiful without exception and looked after us so generously. We simply cannot wait to go back, Thankyou for an amzing stay, it was healing and heavenly .

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback, we are so happy you enjoyed your stay with us. For others to note, there are more mosquitoes in urban areas of Bali such as Kuta & Ubud than here, where we manage our area for water that is standing and breeding mosquito. Our family have lived here on & off for 20 years without the use of mosquito nets and sleeping with windows open. Again many thanks and enjoy the rest of your stay in Bali
