I have LOVED our experience here. We like to look for locations that are less crowded, and we found this beautiful place hidden in the middle of the jungle. Although this place isn't located near any restaurants within walking distance, you can hire a scooter or organise transport. We hired their in house scooter and traveled to Canggu most night for meals. We also ate at their restaurant which provides good meals at a good price and breakfast was included in our stay. They also have spa treatments available here at very reasonable prices (the prices are a lot less than I have seen in other hotels we have stayed at). We stayed in the private pool villa, and the resort also comes with 3 public pools each stunning in their own way. The private pool villa comes with an outdoor bathroom which is pretty spectacular. Due to being in the jungle there are mosquitoes and other insects, however, all you have to do is asked for your room to be sprayed every few nights and you won't be bothered by them. The service was amazing and staff are friendly. If you are looking for a quiet getaway, I highly recommend you try this place.

Overall a super nice place and we loved it wholeheartedly. So relaxing and beautiful.

The rooms are amazing, private pool is great (other people can see in, so not complete privacy). Outdoor bathroom great. Bedding super soft. Has small kitchenette and mini fridge. Free tea and water.
The property is incredible. So pretty and quiet. Love the three different public pools, very very good. The friendliest staff & workers!
Good breakfast. Choice of 7 things. Bircher müesli, granola, smoothie bowls, english breakfast, eggs benedict and then two balinese (noodles & rice).
It’s outside touristy Bali, so very quiet and has a very cute village right across the rice fields. With a great local restaurant.

The restaurant on site is average. The prices are surprisingly good, nothing is over 25.- (except wine) and most dishes (burgers, focaccia, bali dishes, salads etc) are around 5-10 bucks. Very good price for a resort. the SPA is mediocre, also affordable, but not as good as we hoped.

For those in need of a little rest, self care and recharging, De Moksha is a peaceful hideaway, immersed in nature amongst the rice fields.

You can create your own bespoke wellness break with yoga classes, day tour activities, spa treatments, healing ceremonies, healthy cooking classes and vegan/vegetarian meals. In the mornings you can build and make your own with local veggies and fruits.

The rooms offers privacy and plenty of spaces to decompress and chill out. The kitchen is very handy if you wish to cook anything for yourself. Bathrooms are outdoor with a big sunken bath, the shower is hot (heated via the aircon) and powerful.

You can join in with group yoga classes or choose to have one to one sessions. Highly recommend the 'Coconut Yoga' classes, trust me - the Coconut isn't just for drinking but for working out with! A novelty and fun way to tone and lengthen the body :)

The staff were super friendly and helpful - they planned lots of activities including a half day tour where we went to the Leke Leke waterfall, trekking in the rice fields and to the Pura Ulun Danu Beratan lake and temple. Back at the retreat we did a vegan cooking class, where we learnt how to prepare a jackfruit curry (and eat in afterwards of course!), and a boreh making class (a traditional scrub used in the spa which combines traditional organic spices and roots that help to eliminate dead skin cells on the body).

The spa offers traditional therapies, massages, facials and beauty treatments so if are looking for a pampering experience as well, you can get the full works!

For yoga teachers and group leaders, the venue is also set up to host groups and has all the facilities and props you could need, two spaces for classes and private dining area with kitchen.

I spent 3 amazing weeks at De Moksha. The resort is set in a beautiful area, not far from the sea, surrounding by rice fields. The resort itself is a serene haven, with beautiful spaces filled with exotic plants and buzzing with wildlife, and several swimming pool areas to chose from. The staff at De Moksha are what made the experience really special - genuinely caring and couldn't be happier to help, no matter how small the request. The meals were phenomenal - being vegan was no problem, the food was so fresh and delicious, I have never had so many good meals, with such variety. The accommodation is special, with the outdoor bathtubs and high-ceilinged rooms. I'd highly recommend taking yoga classes with Jane, she is amazing! And big thank you to all the staff, including Wayan and Aksis in the restaurant, Ayu & Lisa at reception, to name just a few, they were all phenomenal. Also try the cooking classes if you're interested in learning how to prepare delicious local cuisine, and definitely book a massage! I can't rate this place highly enough, don't hesitate to book it!

De Moksha is a wonderful place to rest and unwind. With a relatively small number of self-contained villas nestled alongside a river and a rice paddy, the atmosphere is unhurried. The staff are attentive and helpful. The restaurant is a gem, offering delicious, healthy and affordable takes on Indonesian and Western dishes.

The nature sounds including circadas, geckos and a rooster evoked happy memories for me, but if you’re a particularly light sleeper you might like to bring earplugs.

The only slight negative was that ventilation could have been better in my room. But I was able to work around this by opening the doors for short periods.

During my stay I enjoyed a lovely Balinese massage and a pushbike ride to Kedungu Beach using the resort’s bikes. (If you’re not used to Indonesian traffic this might seem hair raising but road users are respectful of each other.)

The resort has a driver and also Gojek is available.

I spent 2 nights at De Moksha and enjoyed every second. My room faced a small river, so evening was filled with the sounds of crickets, frogs and running water. The room was simply furnished and extremely comfortable - the outdoor bathroom is very nice too!

As an avid hiker, I enjoyed spending time hiking through paddy fields to the nearby beaches and townships. The villa is an easy 20 minute drive to the tourist area of Canggu, with Gojek/Grab rides easily available.

Highly recommended for anyone interested in seeing "real" Bali, and in supporting local business that support local communities.

Even though I live less an hour away, I love to take the opportunity to stay at De Moksha. Everything is gorgeous, from the property grounds to the unique rounded villa design to the little accents throughout the room. Extra touches like a welcome drink and fruit in the room make me feel so welcome and valued as a guest 🙏

I especially love how comfortable the bed is (I sleep so well here!), the bamboo robe (I want to take it with me! 😍), and the towels... everything is selected with such care. And I really appreciate the eco friendly products in the bathroom, to use in the luxurious outdoor bathtub.

In the morning, it's so nice to sit outside on the patio, listening to the wind through the bamboo trees on the far side of the river just a few steps away, with the sunlight streaming through trees. The grounds are well cared for, a mix of rice terrace, tropical flowers and lush greenery.

Staff are super kind and attentive! Each time I stay I feel creatively inspired.

The staff was so friendly and accomodating. Our welcome ceremony helped us feel connected to the land, and it felt like home here.

Eco-friendly soaps, beautiful round rooms and architecture on this campus, plus high quality bedding and robes and vegetarian meals were all super great!

I had my best trip of my entire lifetime at De Moksha. From the moment I arrived I was met by the warm and caring Ayu who after initially showing me around and helping me to settle in, was also a lovely person to meet around the resort. My room was very comfortable, spacious and it was great to have my own little pool. A real highlight for me was dangling my feet in from my bedroom glass door. I had some great nights of sleep in the luxurious bed and on the pillows and woke up to such a natural view seeing green and lush gardens all around me. I also had great and tasty meals in the restaurant and was so impressed with Winda who made a huge effort to always be accommodating and very friendly. The breakfast smoothie bowls were very tasty and one of the highlights of the day. The yoga with Jane daily was such a treat and it was great to do yoga with such a knowledgeable and fun woman. Her classes set me up for daily rejuvenation and physical transformation. I have never felt better. The tours were fantastic and I visited some nice places. I was really pleased and impressed with my tour guide; Agus who went above and beyond to make not only my tours interesting but my stay fun and I now count him as a good friend. Honestly, I cannot recommend De Moksha enough... even on Silent Day the owners made sure we had something to do and we loved seeing the stars when the lights were out. A fantastic place to visit, thank you for making my stay perfect.

The room I got was spacious, right across from the yoga room and next to the spa. All the staff were very nice and friendly. They called you by your name and remembered which activities you’ve joined the day before and asked you how they went. You can tell the staff there put guests on first priority. I had so much fun throughout the trip, EXCEPT on my last day, in which I had signed up for an activity called, “village walk on foot”, hoping to see what the village looks like. However, the original tour guide couldn’t make it, and the hotel arranged a different guide for me, and brought me to a different village called Pachung. And the most important thing was, the hotel didn’t inform me ahead of time about the above change of arrangement, AND, I was not told I was the only one going on this village tour! I was very surprised when the male guide arrived. Anyway, I still went for the tour since it was on foot. The guide was nice, talkative, and knew everyone in the village, because later I found out he also lives in this village. He showed me his house and his parents and showed me around. Though there wasn’t much to see, it was a long 1-hr walk. While I thought we would walk back to the hotel, the guide said it would be too far to walk back on foot and so I had no choice but to sit behind the guide on a scooter. Upon my return I told the hotel they should have told me in advance that I was the only one joining the tour and guide is a male. If I had known about this I would choose not to go. So to all female solo travelers, please make sure you ask the hotel how many participants have signed up for the activity. I felt disappointed about the arrangement by the hotel. Despite this, everything was fine and went well. I love the yoga instructors there: Jane, besral, arie. The classes were great.
