We stayed here after a few years ago. It has definately changed with a more trendy 'zen' feel to it where before it was much more unaffected and peaceful. The rooms are still tired and plumbing sub standard, but thats Asia for you. You cant beat the humidity for erosion and rot on buildings and the plumbing is aways bad...

Lihat Sawah guesthouse is set on a hillside in Sidemen with beautiful views of the terraced rice fields and Mount Agung. The accommodation is varied and you can be in an individual single-storey villa, two-storey villas or in a small concrete block. All rooms have a balcony or terrace, some with better views than others. My favourite was the big...

wonderful hotel surrounded by lush rice fields and spectacular views. This brand new addition to the Lihat Sawah Guest Houses was not quite finished yet, but we felt very fortunate to find it. I stayed in a beautifully appointed, large room with very comfortable bed and wonderful outdoor rock-garden shower. It was the perfect place to chill on the verandah,...

We headed for Lihat Sawah 1 but there was room in the new LS 3. We actually feel we lucked out because the views seem to be even better than 1 and 2. The place is not entirely finished yet but no matter. The rooms are very lovely and the staff are helpful and enthusiastic. By the time you read...

Easily one of the better hotels I stayed in in Bali. Sidemen is an absolutely stunning area and the hotel has breathtaking views of the mountains and rice paddies. The rooms are fairly simple, as we expected from the price of $30-35/ night. The staff in this hotel is the most friendly I met over a month of traveling in...

I booked a room for 2 nights in Lihat Sawah 3 months ahead (asking for a quiet room), but when we arrived, they told us they now had 7 different hotels and we were in one of them, which they never told me by email of course. In their email, they told me "we now have a beautiful swimming pool"...

If you just want to get away, to walk in the terraced rice fields, to sit on a veranda and look at them, or watch the heavens open up during a Balinese rain storm, this is the place. Great food - breakfast, dinner and a private bungalow, all for less than $40/night. And thier putting in a swimming pool, the...

Lihat Sawah sits just on the outskirts withink easy walking distance of the town. We stayed 3 nights here to take in quiet and rural Bali. Views from the balcony were gorgeous, but you do get alot of early morning road noise as motorbikes and lorries come up the hill heading to the market. The room could have been cleaner,...

“Don't stay in Villa 1 - it's the one above the office and although it's very private (with it's own little surround garden) and looks the part, you get noise from the road at 3/4am as the locals go to the market on their mopeds. Take a room further down the complex.”
