Detailed Reviews
I believe this Dara Ayu location is one of the nicest portfolio of this Adiwana hotel chain, as I have stayed on a couple of them. There is a total of seven rooms available on premise, though they are building more on the bottom of the hill. Three of which are in the main building where the main pool is located. These three rooms are just standard rooms. The other four are individual villas, two of them are sharing one private pool – so this would be your equivalent to your “two bedroom villa” and this is where we stayed. Leave your little ones behind as this is the ultimate gateway for adults if you need to unplug, though there are still plenty of fast wifi throughout the premise. Because there are only seven rooms available, so a max of 14 guests at any given time, you’d often feel like you own the entire property to yourself leaving plenty of opportunities to take amazing photos. We stayed for two full days and our concierge, Eka, was superb from the moment we entered the property until we checked out – he was the definition of Balinese hospitality. We requested for some fresh young coconut and the floating breakfast and he made sure that our needs are met, even though the weather was not accommodating at times. What’s more impressive is that for a remote resort like this, where the nearest restaurant is 45 minutes away (up by Kintamani) they could have easily overcharged their F&B services, but they decided to do the right thing as everything was affordable, considering how much you’re spending a night here. I highly recommend and definitely will come back.

There are a lot of good reviews and we had high expectations when coming here. The service is superb, there’s only a few staff around the resort but they do good work. We had an early check in and free upgrade to the Utari villa. The staff in the lobby put our heavy luggage on their shoulders and carried to to our villa (the path is set where it isn’t possible to just roll the luggage). The staff at the pool and restaurant were very friendly. Another plus is the location of course, Adiwana Dara Ayu is set in a prime location for photos and just total relaxation. I was with my girlfriend there and we didn’t see any other guests. Now I’m writing this review because I’m a little disappointed in the room. We had just stayed in a very modern resort so coming to this jungle one may affect this review. We had the Utari villa which was beautiful and had a good layout, but it totally wasn’t comfortable for us. There is no A/C just ceiling fans which I can deal with. For the best villa at the resort, the decoration and everything was just a little dated. There was no info booklet about amenities around the resort, I had to figure out the number to call the front desk if you wanted anything (#10). Had to shower outside. The worst came in the night- the lights in our room where very dim, we had to turn on every light to see and some didn’t work. We had a downstairs living room and kitchen and didn’t go down there at all in the nighttime because it was so dark. The private pool sounded great but we didn’t use it because it was too cold. The WORST thing is the bed. The sheets were very humid and damp and smelled like body odor. Had ants literally crawling over me all night. I had a restless night but basically sucked it up because we only had one night at the villa. That was good enough. All in all, If they could make some improvements to the room, we would be more more comfortable and spend a lot more time there.

This hotel is a beautiful, traditional Balinise hotel with all of the modern touches. The main infinity pool is huge and has the most incredible view of the forest and rice terrances- the sky here at sunset is spectacular.
The food is delicious with lots of options for everyone and they also offer a floating breakfast which is perfect in the warm mornings.
The hotel is located outside of the hustle and bustle of Ubud so it is nice and quiet but they do offer a shuttle if you would like to go into thr center.
We stayed in a one bedrood villa which was so spacious with an amazing view and a large, outside bath (they also offer flowerbaths on request which is a really romantic experience).

Out of the 2 weeks in Bali and Lombok, this was our favorite spot. It was the perfect place to start our honeymoon. Located about 30 min. drive from Ubud, we appreciated being away from that hustle/bustle. So very tranquil and relaxing. We sometimes felt like we were the only ones there! We stayed in the Laksmi villa overlooking rice fields. Although we had our own pool we never swam in it because it was in the shade and with recent rains was too cold.
From check-in to check-out we were taken care of by thoughtful and friendly staff. Special shout out to Su, Adi, Eka. They were always around to organize or facilitate anything we needed or wanted to do. I will say that the food was good but a bit on the bland side so ask for spice if thats what you like.

Such a great experience while I and my girlfriend stayed here for two nights. The hotel's crew are so nice and kind, they explain all about Villa that we asked. The Villa has a neat and well-organized yard, there are so many beautiful flowers, we can see them while we're on our way to the room. They have 7 rooms with a private pool/each, and we are stay in Dewi Laksmi room. And it was so Amazing! The room is so clean and smells really good. The bed is facing to the ricefield and coconut trees view, while the private pool is on the left side of the room. We ordered a flower pool set, and it blew my mind! they made it very fast and the result is so beautiful and romantic. Last but not least, we can see a wonderful sunset from our room! We really have a good time here!

Me and my wife stayed in Adiwana Dara Ayu for 4 nights in one bedroom with private pool villa. Our expectations were quiet high after checking the picture of the facility and the room before we have been there. First of all, Adiwana Dara Ayu is located in a small village, in middle of the forest. The location is 40 mins drive away from Ubud city. So you definitely need to book for a driver/scooter if you want to see the island. We were picked up by friendly driver, Adi, from Denpasar airport. He answered our curious questions and explained the overall culture of Bali. After he drove us to hotel, our first impression of the hotel and location was 10/10. Once we checked in and got into our room, the problems started appearing. First issue was that the Wifi was not working. We asked for some help from reception. It took a bit of time to fix it but at the end, the staff was so kind and helpful to get that fixed. Another issue that we have found out was the cleaning of the room. The room was not clean enough. For example, the glasses were not clean enough nor the floor of the room. Also, the wooden interior was pretty old and torn down. Lastly, the bedsheet, curtain were ripped off and with some small bugs on it. The next morning, we met with Madi, who is the manager of the facility. He listened our feedback carefully and asked his staff to get the issues fixed about cleaning etc. We have seen the improvement after our feedback but still some improvements required. He has the mentality to get the listed issues fixed :) The staff were amazing and friendly. They are always trying their best to make their customers happy with the best possibility. The food in the hotel was good, better than expected ! The location is AMAZING ! But the facility needs renovation. If the facility gets renovated and will be up to the same quality as the location, the hotel would be one of the best hotels in Bali.

We were traveling as a family of 4 with 2 grown up children. From the moment when Adi picked us up at the airport to checkout it was a very pleasant experience at Adiwana Dara Ayu. All staff at the hotel were as friendly and polite as it can get, everyone was swiftly available for assistance and any questions we had. The restaurant and villas have been always clean and in good condition. The hotel is surrounded by a wonderful garden and needless to mention the awesome view into the surrounding landscape. At this hotel you are close to nature, but still keep at a distance acceptable and pleasant if you are not used to live in a forest.
The restaurant offers a delicious mix of local and international meals. Don’t forget to order Dadar Gulung for breakfast, for lunch/dinner Beef Rendang and fish soup were among our top picks. We had lunch and dinner 6 times and whatever we chose was available, fresh and delicious.
One of the highlights was certainly the cooking class. Starting in the morning with a visit to the local farmers market and cooking lunch at the traditional Balinese kitchen on the hotel property. It was so much fun for the whole family. Mrs. Sinar, we cannot thank you enough for that!
My wife enjoyed a relaxing massage with Mrs. Suli, who also accompanied us for a fun hiking trip down to the river and around the hotel, we enjoyed Suli’s kind and heartfelt company a lot.
The price at the hotel for meals and transportation are reasonable and very fair in our view. The location is very quiet but actually closer than we expected to very lovely villages. It was a perfect place for us to relax from a long overseas trip and to start discovering the heart of Bali. We booked the hotel driver Mr. Adi for our trips to Sukumpul waterfalls, Lake Beraten, Jatiluwih, the local market and trips to Ubud. Adi is also a very knowledgeable tour guide assisting in anything to make your trips a pleasant experience. He is very polite and at the same time understands how much privacy his clients appreciate. The prices for the trips were fair and reasonable. We wished to stay even longer and definitely recommend the Adiwana Dara Ayu for anyone who is looking for a quiet or romantic time surrounded by tropical nature and enjoying it from a clean and comfortable hotel.

We stayed for three nights at this resort and could not recommend it more. It’s setting is just beautiful with nature intertwined in all aspects and traditional balinese interior design. The resort itself is clean and well maintained with beautiful details in design, particularly considering it is still recovering from the past few years of travel restrictions and the fact that nearly all spaces are open air. However the effects of closure for a period of time are evident in some areas of the resort., but all in all these are small details. The service from staff is exceptional, with waiting and reception staff on hand to offer any assistance required immediately. We were always greeted with a smile by any member that passed by. We would specifically like to thank Adi, who kindly offered to drive us to a temple we wanted to see, after our original tour was cancelled, but also took us on the most spectacular route and stop at a local coffee plantation and kept us safe in torrential rain. If you are looking for a peaceful and serene break away from reality, immersed in nature and privacy, this is the perfect choice.

This place exceeded our expectations! We stayed in the 2Brm Villa which had everything you needed. The views from the villa were just beautiful. The staff were all so friendly and helpful especially Eka and Adi. Eka took us on a trek around the local area which was very informative. Breakfast was cooked to order and enjoyed looking out over the infinity pool and rice fields.
Our experience overall was amazing!

Missing hand soap and towels. We only got it when we asked for it ourselves, despite the fact that they had been to clean.
On the 4th day we finally got one dressing gown, so there is still one missing and now we are checking out.
The drain is stopped, so the bath water with soap etc. escapes into the pond with fish.
There are many ants and various animals inside the room. There was an animal that had dirt on the duvet. Stains on "clean" bed linen. They had tried to hide dirty bedding by painting it over.
An animal that cuddles and eats our chips and various things from the coffee shop every night. The hotel's response was simply that if we find out what it is, then we just have to speak up.
The hotel is far from Ubud and it is not easy to get Grab/Gojek. (Minimum 45 minutes by car)
The hotel is generally worn and the staff do not all seem particularly service minded. Doesn't smile, doesn't greet and is generally disengaged. It seems like the staff is not trained.
The food is overpriced and the quality does not follow the price.
We have not been given any introduction to the spa department, but when we went there ourselves it looked very worn and not very inviting.
It is a long way from the room to the restaurant and from there also some distance up to the car park.
We were given a mobile on the 3rd day so that we could get in touch with the reception now that the room is some distance away. But the phone's language was in Indonesian, so I didn't understand anything. Had to go up to reception and have the language changed. When I contacted them the next day, they did not respond to texts or calls. So I again have to go up and talk to them and hand in the phone because they say it doesn't work.
The roller blinds on the terrace could not be rolled up.
Laundry was not delivered as agreed. It was only when we again asked for it ourselves.

Apologies delayed reply . We didn’t catch the bus but there is a bus in the day that stops outside villa and takes you from the villas to ubud . We didn’t go to ubud in the evening so I can’t comment on that but we had a taxi that dropped us off at villas when arrived at 130am but that was from airport . Sorry I can’t be more helpful . I can’t praise villas enough it is beautiful and so relaxing .
I used Booking without any problem just 2 weeks ago and paid directly at the property by cash.
Actually their management could be improved since they've opened more than 2 years ago.
