We stayed at Pondok Salacca for 3 nights in May 2019. Its a great little homestay, run by a kind a welcoming and family. Putu, the owner, is a lovely guy with plenty of local knowledge and advice, with a brand new motorbike available for rent (the best one we rode in 3 months around indonesia!) We did an early morning ride from here to Lempuyang to catch the sunrise (about 40 mins, well worth it). You can get down the mountain to Virgin Beach and surrounding area in about 30 mins, and the resort town of Candidasa. But if you want a break from the tourists this place is for you. Theres nearby walks and waterfalls, and you'll see the local community bathes beautiful sunshine in the morning, and covered atmospheric clouds in the afternoon (when we were there anway!) Would really recommend the food here too, really cheap but great tasting home cooking, with plenty of home grown snake fruit for desert (must try!) Can;t recommend enough!

Putu and his family are great people who have the sense of welcoming people. The room is great, comfy and the bathroom is very clean. The environment is peaceful, far from the chaos of so many places in Bali. If you have a scooter, you can easily explore around and meet true people, always happy to meet a foreigner there in their small village. The food his wife cooked for us for dinner was good and all the prices are very good value. Putu is happy to talk with you anytime you want to share with him.

Bali is found with the Balinese experience, if you truly want to indulge in the spirit of the people, community and their magic then treat your self to a few days or longer in enjoying this little secret haven. Putu and Nanga are a husband and wife team with two beautiful children. They have built two lovey cozy modern bungalows on their property. Each room has a fan, little kitchen, modern bathroom with hot and cold water. The bed is big and comfortable, everything is new and clean. Wake up in the morning to be served a delicious coffee or tea with a choice of breakfast either local or basic western. Lunch and Dinner can be ordered at any time and cooked traditionally. Basket weaving is also taught here and is like a meditation as you sit quietly weaving with Putu;s father. All in all you get to experienced the magic of the Balinese and also support keeping Bali with the people of Bali. We are now happy to have become part of Putu’s family.

Salacca inn is located at Sibetan Village. Sibetan is a popular village in Bali since it has the island's largest salak plantations. The salak is a sweet-tasting fruit with a brown skin resembling that of a snake. Salacca inn is a great accommodation to stay . Salacca inn offers the beauty of the place in the middle of salak plantation. In addition Salacca inn is a nice place to stay, Sibetan Village offers of authentic Balinese daily life for the curious. Find out behind the scene of a humble village lively. One of the most common programs you can see at Sibetan Villages is the program of Bali Sibetan Volunteer and Learning Center (BSVLC). You can learn about many things about Culture and Farming such as Making an offering, Blessing , batik painting farming and many more.

I have to say I'm not one for writing reviews but I do have to put in a plug for Putu and extended family for the hospitality and genuineness they afford to anyone who stays in in their unique mountain setting. The area is quiet and panoramic and the guest houses and food are all good ! Putu works in the tourist industry so is very knowledgeable ( and humble ) and can help with travel related concerns etc.

We stayed here 3 nights. The first night in the lower room, which have the advantage of a good water pressure, but faces the home's courtyard, so you have a bit lees privacy than the other room, which is located a bit upper, so with more privacy. I read in some other reviews that' there is not hot water. Is no true, but, specially in the upper room, you have to wait some minutes (about 2 or 3 in the lower room and more than 5 in the upper one) before the hot water arrives to destination. Soon, even a 3rd room, with kitchen included, will be ready. by the way, Putu is not an hotel owner, but a friend. He always try to help as much as possible and try to make people comfortable and happy. We have some nice chats in the evening after dinner and he is always welling to help and get and give suggestions. To be here you definitely need a motorbike. if you don't get it before, They rent scooters for 40.000 rupias per day. We always have dinner here. Puitu's wife can prepare some dishes for pretty reasonable prices. The environment, in the middle of trees and other vegetables, is very nice Totally recommended location. Next time in Bali, we definitely come back here...

Time for another review, this place really deserves one. After the hordes of travellers in Kuta and Seminyak, this was a very welcoming alternative. If you want to stay with a real Balinese family, this is your place. Highly recommended! I stayed there for Hindu new year and Putu and his family were great hosts the whole time (you cannot leave houses / hotels on Hindu new year since it's a "quiet day") - The rooms were very clean (I was able to look at both), mine had a mosquito net deployed. Queen size beds in both rooms, nice and hard. Yes, water pressure is a bit irregular, but nothing that would be a real problem - Food was great, Putu's wife is a great cook. I was not only able to get breakfast, lunch, and dinner prepared (with reasonable amounts of chicken!), but all kinds of regular rice snacks I had never had before. And btw, Balinese Salak fruit all you can eat :-) - Wifi is slow, yes. But a) it works and b) maybe you don't need to have 24/7 broadband access? I was quite happy to leave my phone in the room while having a chat with the family - Surroundings make for great scooter tours and crystal clear night skies. I have to think long back to see such great starlight. And btw, the direct road from Manggis is rather steep, but if you go via Sideman, your scooter shouldn't have any problems getting up. But definitely use a GPS and the location from booking.com, otherwise you'll have to ask locals (also works) - Putu can help you organize all kinds of trips, e.g., trek to Mount Agung, boat to Gili, scooter from Padangbai. I was too lazy to do anything, but would trust him with this. Just let him know.

Very quiet place, you have to get there through a few steep hills, we rented a weak motorbike and it wasn't strong enough to carry us with luggages up there, I had to walk 2x. People are nice, very kind and friendly. They have 2 rooms for rent at this moment. There was a little bit problem with pressure of water and there wasn't hot water as they promised us. Wifi was very weak and had been lost connection quite often. We can recommend this place, room was tidy and nicely furnished.
