Thank you Bruno for having us! A wonderful and beautiful accomodation with AMAZING views. We loved the style of the place and felt so comfortable. The food was amazing and we really enjoyed the diving. We will definitely be returning!
My wife and i stayed a weekend in this absolutely stunning place. We loved the view, our lovely bungalow and the hospitality of Bruno and his wife Atun. Not to mention the fabulous food we had at their restaurant. A must try is Atuns Beef Rendang. We will be back very very soon. I wish i could give more than 5 stars.
The best place to stay in the eastern part of Bali. Both mountain and sea views are breathtaking, dinner is so delicious and each house of this complex is unique! I will definitely come back, 100% recommended!
Far enough away to be away from the nasty tourism, but only a short car ride from the bay. Breathtaking views, pleasantly cool air, fantastic home cooked world cuisine. We paid for one of the best traditional huts and it was worth every single penny. You would pay so much more if this was somewhere else. Superb value and finished to such high quality. Owners Bruno and Kusmiatun were amazing hosts. Full of great local knowledge and advice. We certainly will be recommending this place to everyone especially if they want an experienced diving instructor!
We came here for lunch and i must say we were not only stunned by the amazing views this place has to offer but also about the wonderful people who own this place. We had a fantastic lunch and were also shown some of their bungalows. This was enough for me and my wife to decide we want to stay here. A booking is already made. See you in 2 weeks. Thanks Bruno and his lovely wife.
This resort is the right place to relax and to disappear for a while, just look at the pictures I attached, and tell me I am wrong 😊. It is owned and managed by a wonderful Franco/Indonesian couple, who goes out of their way to make your stay comfortable. It is not a 5-star glamorous and plastic establishment, but on the contrary, it is a down to earth real resort surrounded by nature with fresh breeze, birds chirp, colorful landscape and that wonderful human touch provided by Kus and Bruno that is almost impossible to find anymore. Bruno is a professional diver and offer diving trips and lessons. Kus, among other things, is your host/chef who prepare those wonderful breakfasts and Indonesian specialties. By the way, we had to turned off the ceiling fan and night, a little cold, definitely no need for A/C. When I like a place I can go on forever. I just want to say that we definitely will be back and no need to say that we recommend highly this hotel to everyone who wants to get away from the “blink blink” and get down to the beauty of life.…
We had an amazing time. Incredible view. We signed up for the dive certification. Bruno was really patient and made us feel confident. Diving sites were beautiful, ship wreck, underwater sculptures, tropical fishes. Back in the resort, we relaxed and enjoyed delicious Indonesian food cooked by Atun. We highly recommend Manggis Garden !
So glad I found this resort, really nice to get up into the hills and away from the crowds. The resort looks out onto Candidasa bay and Nusa Penida, and the high vantage point gives stunning views at sunrise and sunset. Also loved hearing the sounds of the jungle all around, though it was very quiet at night. The room was clean and nicely furnished, and the bed was very comfortable. The shower had plenty of water pressure and warm water. The restaurant had a nice feel to it and the food was excellent. The owners Bruno and Kusmiatun and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Next time I'm in Bali, I know where to go. Highly recommend.
I spent spent 5 nights at Manggis Garden with my parents and we loved the place. The room has everything you need for a relaxing holiday, there is a small pool and you can sit in the garden and enjoy doing nothing. Atun and Bruno are amazing and welcoming hosts, they are very helpful to plan activities and they even dropped us at the beach and it was interesting and lots of fun talking with them. The Manggis Garden is a little remote, but this is why we liked it. You can really escape the touristy places like Seminyak and Canggu and explore the villages and mountains around. I did a 5 hour trekking tour in the area (the guide can be arranged with the hotel) and it was great to walk through the villages, see the local temples, having a little chat with the people you meet, and have a great view of Mount Agung and Mount Batur, and see a waterfall. The very nice beach Pasir Putih is not too far away (you need a car or arrange to be dropped there with Atun/Bruno). Coming back from the beach, I just took a motor bike taxi and got off at Manggis village and from there I walked up to the hotel (45 min, but I am quite fit), it's a nice walk with a great view, though a little steep sometimes. We also had breakfast/dinner there, the food was very tasty as they don't use MSG and everything is fresh. If you are looking for a quite place to stay and wish to explore the "a little bit more real" Bali, I can highly recommend this place. I don't dive but Bruno is also a diving teacher (the pool is quite deep to practice there), so this might be an activity you can do there too.…
This is maybe one of the best-kept secrets in Bali. A small resort with beautiful bungalows hidden away in the mountains but only a ten minute drive from the main road connecting the south to the north east of Bali. The bungalows have so much detail with decorations and artwork sourced from Bali, Java and elsewhere. It's amazing, you could spend hours just discovering that. There are sea views, too and diving or snorkeling trips can be arranged as well as trekking and much more. Then, there's the food! A mix of Balinese, Javanese and Sumbawa cuisine with a few French twists thrown in. Brioche for breakfast, anyone? Great place to base the family for a few days or to just relax around the pool and enjoy the cool mountain air. Or take a walk into Manggis village and not see another tourist all day. Simply beautiful!…
