This homestay is a wonderful place to stay and get a real Indonesian experience. The family of the owners are staying close by and give the place a nice and warm buzz in the background. We only ate Indonesian dishes in the on-site restaurant and these were of fantastic quality and highly recommended. When you stay in one of the two upstairs rooms you will have a spacious balcony directly facing Jemeluk Bay. The rooms are basic but clean and there is a new wifi box upstairs guaranteeing a connection. The owners' son Kadek Lantur is always there for you with helpful advice, tips and tricks. You can book transport and activities with him such as fishing trips in the morning, and he will also point out activities in and around Amed such as viewpoints you can visit. We will for sure be back.…
Booked and advance paid 7 nights. Aircon and wifi non functional due to a system issue. After 3 nights of excuses and no attempt to fix I had to relocate. The other issue is a narrow hallway which is the only entrance for guests to restaurant and reception is the site for daily drinking parties by local men. Food, booze and themselves completely block the way. This goes on all afternoon and into the evening. They get very very drunk and out of control. When I returned at the time asked to return key etc we were subjected to a furious uncontrolled drunken attack by one of the drinkers claiming to be the owner? Despite being conciliatory and calm there was no defusing this.It was savage, wholly uncalled for and disgusting. As we tried to leave through the rowdy yelling group one lunged at my friend threatening to hit him with a plate. The other old drunk chased out after us screaming and jeering as we left. They are selling facilities they cannot actually provide and resort to this behaviour when questioned. Not a safe environment for lone females or children. Although the young man who appears to run the place is pleasant enough he is not in charge and was frozen to the spot through all this. Know who you are really dealing with here. Full marks to booking.com who responded quickly to offer assistance and refunded me in full.…
After spending 2 weeks here last August, there was no hesitation to stay again this trip. Mr Lantur greeted us warmly himself at the airport in Denpasar to drive us to Amed, and is a great host. Always ready to help us with things ranging from dropping us off to pick up scooters, booking tours and anything we might need in our room. We spent both trips in the upstairs sea view room which is basic but clean and comfortable with air con and great views of Jemeluk Bay. There will always be a sun lounge waiting for you on the beach, with the best snorkeling just off the shore. Banana pancake breakfasts are our go to and the lunch and dinner menu is varied and tasty. Thanks again for looking after us so well Lantur!
We stayed here for two weeks in August 2018. This place is right on the best bit of beach and bay in the area for me, with a nice and good value restaurant, beach loungers for people staying the accommodation and more. The best things about the place though were the incredibly helpful staff, especially Mr Lantur, and the upstairs water view room that we had. You could see the sea from the bed if you had the blinds open, the balcony was lovely, and the room had aircon and just enough furniture to be comfortable. It was somewhat basic, the shower low pressure, and the bed a bit firm, nothing which would stop be staying there again without hesitation. Thanks for a great stay!
I have to concur with the recent bad review and was highly disappointed. Again, the air conditioning hardly worked and WiFi didn't work at all. There were no tea making facilities or even soap in the bathroom, both as advertised. There are many errors on the Bookin.com information including 'all rooms on the ground floor' (there are upstairs rooms, too) and fireplace (What? In the tropics)? You can find better in Bali for half the price, and I left annoyed for having chosen to stay here.
I had planned to stay at this so called homestay for 5 nights. I had looked at their pictures of the place online and it looked really nice. When I got there I was very surprised how run down the place had become. It looked that it lacked 10 years worth of maintenance. Things inside the room had been left to rot and become mouldy and the room stank. Quick repairs had been made with sticky tape on doors and furniture. Aircon barely worked and the one bedside lamp did not work at all. They advertised that there is WiFi in all rooms which is not the case. If I stood outside the door I had a weak signal. There was a leak in the bathroom ceiling and hallway ceiling leaving big puddles on the floor. There was a big hole in my bed linen and they smelled mouldy as well. We decided to only stay one night instead of five even though we had to pay 450000 IDR extra in cancellation fee. When you walk to the property from the road you enter at the back of the homestay which function as a combined building site and rubbish tip. Due to the fact that the pictures the owner had put up online did not reflect reality at all I feel like the victim of deliberate fraud. …
We had 8 great days relaxing and snorkelling at this little gem. Rooms were large , bed very comfortable , air con worked well , wi fi good . Bathroom not 5 star but very clean with great water pressure. Staff were brilliant nothing too much trouble. Cleaning of rooms to very good standard , didn't have to ask to have sheets changed or clean towels . No pool but you don't need with perfect swimming and snorkelling right at your front door. Lantur organised a romantic dinner on the beach on our last night . Very much appreciated. If your looking for value then this is the place ! We would certainly recommend and we will be returning next year. Only downside was that they were building new rooms on top of current rooms and it was a bit noisy and dusty at times .
This is a true homestay experience. The best snorkeling spot in the area is right off their beach front restaurant. The room has a large comfortable bed with a seating area out front. The family is polite and friendly and always ready to help out. They can arrange fishing trips, snorkelling to other beaches and even a trip out in traditional fishing boat to watch the sunset. They also have scooters for rent. They have lounge chairs right on the beach and make sure their homestay guests always have a seat.
I came here with my family and we had a great time. The room is clean and has a nice view and comfy bed. The bathroom is basic, but good enough. GREAT food!! Great snorkeling and incredible friendly staff.
If you want to stay on the beach or go snorkelling, it is the best location. The restaurant is fine and staff is nice. As a guest you have a nice place on the beach. The staff hired a taxi driver for us to go to Ubud and he was a bad choice.
