Whenever we've been away and stayed at a hotel my family and I play "Which is your favourite so far?", and now we're back after three weeks in Bali, this hotel, out of the four places we've stayed, wins in every way. Built into the side of a steep hill with a fairly long flights of steps, the views of the bay are absolutely beautiful. Even from the lovely garden at the topmost bungalow, you can see right through the crystal clear sea to the corals beneath, and speaking of which, Amed is fabulous for snorkelling and diving. We enjoyed snorkelling for hours - as soon as your face enters the water, only a foot deep, the myriad fish are there, swimming about, going about their daily lives. It really is fantastic.Snorkel gear can be easily rented from the guys on the beach for around 30,000IDR a day. The bungalows - one to each level - are private, each woth its own bathroom, water cooler, comfortable beds and clean linen. Kettle and cups are also provided. The private garden has sun loungers and a small table, with views over the bay and, on a clear day, Agung, the volcano. Let's not forget the pool with its tepid water and sunloungers; pool towels available from reception so remember to collect them on the way up! The staff are friendly and helpful, providing a tasty breakfast each morning. For us the lunch and dinner menu wasn't so good but that's because we're vegetarain and there wasn't anything suitable. This is a small family run hotel which obviously looks after its guests and maintains the property well - in fact many of the staff were out every day tending to the gardens. Lovely, lovely place we would happily come back to.…
Loved our stay at Shankara Parada. Villas are spacious comfortable and kept spotlessly clean as are the grounds. Stunning views of Lipah beach and Mount Agung from both Villas and pool. Despite what some reviews say we thought breakfast was good with quality omelettes and pancakes - staff were happy to accommodate requests. Lipah Beach is by far the best in the area with good coral and plentiful sea life to the right of the beach and directly in front of villas. Saw and swam with a couple of turtles here also saw moray’s, stone fish, tuna plus plentiful reef fish. Sadly some numpties persist in standing on coral so how long it will last who knows. All in all a perfect place to kick back for a few days. We would definitely return if coming back to Amed
Amed is a grat place for relaxing, snorkeling and diving. Our stay in Shankara Parada Villas was awesome, from the first day. The rooms had everything we needed and more. Very nice staff, friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, with soap, shampoo and water. The infinity pool is awesome and the beach is only 3 minutes away from the villa. Clean beach with a rich underwater world. We loved it, highly recommended! Thank you so much for the great time at your place!
My wife and I spent 4 wonderful nights at this fantastic Villa. We had the top villa with sweeping views of Lippa Beach and Mt Agung. The room was excellent and clean. The outdoor shower was fantastic with good water pressure and ample hot water. Breakfast was basic but nice and there are plenty of other places to eat. Snorkelling off Lippa Beach is a must. Seek out Made and he'll give you a good price on a full face mask and flippers.
We stayed as a couple for 3 nights. We had the Villa at the top of the property and had a beautiful view over Lipah Beach. The room was roomy, the indoor outdoor bathroom was very nice. The pool was very good with a view over Limpah as well. It made it very tranquil to just soak up the view. The Cons for us that would lift this place are: No info in rooms for Tours, About Us, places to see, how to operate TV etc nothing The breakfast was standard fare, lower than what you would expect for the room price (on par with other places we have stayed for 40% of this price) We only had breakfast the first morning. We went elsewhere the second day. The night before the 3rd breakfast we settled our bill and we were asked if we wanted breakfast as I said we were leaving early. Breakfast is from 7.00am so that would not be problem. I said we will be having breakfast as we wanted to be on the road by 7.30. We turned up for breakfast at 7.10 and the only person we could find was a very confused gardener. We waited a short time and left, who knows when the kitchen staff would arrive and how much longer we may have to wait. (This was Nyepi Eve and we wanted to get to Lovina by midday to avoid any traffic delays from Ogah Ogah parades. It was a very poor outcome.…
