I took my little family to explore Amed and ended up at Sunshine Bungalow. We booked for Superior room but Pak Sudi the owner who also manage his resort upgraded us into Deluxe room, it is very large and really convenient for 4 or us. The room also faced to pool and ocean. The resort is clean, looks so green and beautiful beach even though rocky one especially in the morning when sunrise, you may also see the local people are very busy with their boat and the fishes. Love so much Amed.

Very friendly staff, firm mattress in king size bed, good food and mocktails, a bit of outdated room, nice small garden with pool, free drinking water, drying rack, rockey beach with bit of black lava sand, situated between local coastline road and beach: both traffic and the waves can be heard in your room ;) This part off the beach is difficult to walk on because of the stones and is blocked by cliffs so no strolling among the coast line. Mind you: Amed is a tiny town and there are few tourists ;) All in all value four money.

We loved the peace here and the ocean swimming. Great for snorkeling, the ocean like an aquarium, not large tropical fish but multitudes of small colourful fish that you swim amongst. The staff were very welcoming and kind, massage therapy the best, yoga classes just down the road which suited me. A quiet retreat, afternoon activities, central pool, would certainly love to go back.

What a great place!! Amed is a really good place to relax, snorkel, dive and enjoy Bali in a peaceful way!! Sunshine bungalows is absolute a perfect place to stay. The rooms are big and clean, swimming pool, private beach are good and it is a great place for good snorkeling (many fishes and we saw a turtle!) . The staff is in one word : SUPERB! All of them are friendly, very helpful, personal and doing everything to make your stay perfect!!! Good breakfast and juices and we loved the popcorn!!!

We have stayed at Sunshine Bungalows for 3 nights. We were surprised how fantastic the place was for such a reasonable price. The staff was very friendly and we felt welcome. You can see that the hotel is running of someone who cares about the place and the quests. We snorkled just in front of the hotel and it was beautiful there. Food in restaurant was ok, but green curry could be much better. It is very peaceful at the hotel, away from crowd. We loved the place and really would like to come back.

Since we were picked up at Denpasar airport by Nengah we felt the warmth of Indonesian hospitality. Everything during our stay was perfect. From the very first moment the staff asked us our name and always called us by name, this is a small thing but it makes you feel at home. The hotel is right on the beach and it is a perfect location for snorkeling and swimming. The breakfast is good and the restaurant serves good Indonesian food at a fair price. Almost everyday the hotel offers some free activities for the hosts: hiking, cooking demonstrations, massage and so on; all the activities are fun and enjoyable. The room is big and comfortable, clean and there is air conditioning. I recommend booking all the activities and tickets from the hotel because they don't overcharge like other hotels but often their prices are better then the prices you can find in other places (for example pick up from the airport and boat to Gili). The staff is incredibly friendly: during my boyfriend's birthday they made a cake for us and brought it to the beach singing happy birthday to you (we didn't ask for that, it was their initiative). The hotel looks far better than in photos, if you doubt where to go in Amed just book a room at sunshine bungalows; we left 3 days ago and already miss Sunshine bungalows and its wonderful staff.

I can't rate this hotel high enough, its way way exceeding my expectations. Its truly is my best finding so far. Beach is right in front of my door, pristine water with swimable distance of diving/snorkeling spots. Clean tempting infinity pool, with kids pool, facing the ocean which I and my two kids can't get enough of it. Beautiful tropical garden as u can imagine. Everything is much better in real than the pictures. The room is massif and immaculately clean, stocked with bottles of water, minibar, fruit selections all for free! Bathroom is huge, with bathtub and amenities. Descent breakfast selection. The area itself , Amed & surrounding, is endless to explore; beach is on one side, while on the other side is a mountain, ricefield, river, you name it, all bali's best nature has to offer. Views is breathtaking. Food at their restaurant on the beach is second to none! I always had dinner there on my entire stay, among many other restaurant options steps away from the hotel. All freshly cooked and delicious. Their grilled Mahi-mahi is must try. I managed to join their free guided hiking activities, passing through spectacular tracks amongs the mountains, rivers, temple, and ricefields (see pic). It litreally blown me away this area has so much to offer. And I got much more than what I paid for. Above all, the staff is truly highlight of this jewel. They go above and beyond to assure my memorable stay. So friendly and polite with genuine smile on their faces, call me by name at all time, gracious, always make sure I have anything I needed and never let me missed my schedule doing this and that. I would say, they invented higher bar of hospitality, even if compared to Bali's standard which is already high. Praise the team who definetely knew, by heart, what they are doing. I ended up staying more than my original booking and didn't want to leave. I will definitely come back and recommend it to anyone.

I have stayed here a few times (Sunshine Resort right?). It's a little out of town but It's self contained. Lovely little restaurant almost on the beach. The rooms are simple but very comfortable- about 400,000. there are very large family room that run at about 1 juta. It's a bit expensive. However they are very good for families. Top place.

This is one of the nicest places to stay in Amed Beach, which we know because we actually tried three of them. ;) Our room was spacious with a nice balcony that afforded great views (while still feeling private), a nice big pool and a cafe that is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (but breakfast is the best - all fresh and experly prepared). Also complimentary tea or coffee in the afternoon. The property is right on a small stretch of beach, where you can bask in the sun, amuse yourself on the rope swing, watch local fishers bring in their daily catch, or go snorkeling in the small reef just 20m out the gate to the complex. There you’ll see varieties of tropical fish, including clownfish, trumpetfish, cuttlefish, and maybe a ray or two. You can even rent equipment from the front desk if you need to. You can also book tours or just a driver to wherever you want to go, or just do what we did and spend most of your time your time at Sunshine. You won’t regret a minute of it - except when it’s time to say goodbye. Highly recommended!

I stayed with my wife in this resort for 2 nights, attracted from the good reviews but immediately we entered the hall I feel a bit confused. I work in the hospitality field for a long time now and I can understand what is expecting me at first sight 90% of the times and also this time I wasn't wrong. The place needs a big renovation and it's really overpriced. We hadn't other options anyway as we arrived late in the afternoon to Amed and also cause it seems that there everybody doubles the price of a night stay during the weekend (this is generally not fair at all...). 3 big disappointing marks: 1. at the entrance of the room there were 3 old mattresses left on the side of the stairs...I don't know why they were there but I don't want to imagine that is something they do to all their mattresses 2. the pool is a very mess (we didn't take a single bath!): there are several broken tiles left at the bottom of the pool 3. for 1.2MIL x night I expect a good breakfast: poor choice and really bad quality I didn't give a score of 1 (terrible) to this resort only for the Staff that is very friendly and attentive. They would deserve more attention from their owner. You leave the place with the feeling that they do their best but nobody cares. Overpriced
