Amazing stay! The room is really good, has everything you need and we loved that you could drink the water from the tap (they have a own well). Great pool right at the sea. The staff and owner are really nice, very friendly and very respectful giving your privacy. Would definitely stay here again!

We visited on a mini break. Villa Bukit is beautifully designed and immaculately maintained. To say the location is stunning is a serious understatement. And matching the location is the attentiveness, efficiency and friendliness of the staff. We were also personally greeted by the owner who rightly takes great pride in his property.
The romantic dinner near the Bale was also a very special experience - the food was delicious (especially the Bebek Rendang) and the setting certainly romantic by candlelight at sunset.
We would have no hesitation in recommending Villa Bukit Segara and intend to return ourselves in the near future.
Thank you!

Dear Guest, Yes, we are blessed with a 'more than stunning location" as you described it. A little hill (bukit) at the sea (segara) made it easy to create a spectacular view from the rooms and the restaurant and certainly from the "romantic table". Its a bit exra walking for the staff ( 50 m) but they do it with pleasure because they will remember the days (covid) that the restaurant was empty! And about our location, just in front of the villa is the wellknown Bunutan reef, the best place for snorkeling in the Amed-area. We hope to see you again. Derk

We are a travel agent in Bali.
We have made a booking at this hotel for our guests, for the period of August 2020. Due to COVID-19, our client could not come, so we decided to postphone the trip to 2021. As until now the borders are still closed, and our guests could not come this year, they decided to cancel their trip and ask for a refund.
When we contacted the hotel and asked for a refund, they were understand, very helpful and willing to do it.
We have now received a 100% refund of the deposit we paid.

We are very satisfied and really appreciate this commercial gesture.
In the future, we will not hesitate to work with this very professional hotel again.

Thank you Villa Bukit Segara !

What a place! After a couple of very nice days in hectic and crowded Ubud it was a relief to spend four nights in this wonderful accomodation. The room was tidy and super clean, well equipped, nicely decorated and with a stunning view. Although we have spent many years in Indonesia it's actually been the first time ever that the water was drinkable straight from the tab... Thanks to Bukit Segaras own well. Very tasty and no plastic bottled water needed 🙂. There is already too much plastic in this country so we appreciate every effort taken to use less.

All staff is professional, very attentive and will always give you a smile. Something we will miss when we are back home...
Breakfast can be chosen from a list: fresh juice, fruit, joghurt, Bubur Ayam, bread, eggs, jelly, nasi goreng, etc. We also had dinner twice, I highly recommend their duck rendang!!

Another highlight is the pool. What a view...

We feel terrible leaving this place and can't wait to get back to this tranquil but still central place in Amed. Thanks to the entire crew for making our stay so wonderful!!

Thank you so much for this very nice review Peter, specially your attention for our water. I wrote a book about bottled water called "The Plastic Water Maffia". Its only in Dutch available and for sale in Dutch bookshops. Indeed its a blessing that we can provide our spring water in glass bottles to our guests and many, like you, know to appreciate that. On a depth of 60 meter we have a spring with water of excellent quality, we dont have to adjust chemicals, there is just a sand filter. The water is regularly tested in a lab. Maybe you noticed that at the roadside next to the entrance there is a refill station where local people and tourists can get "our ' water, 7 x 24, for free of course. A small contribution to the reduction of plastic waste. Thank you again, we hope to see you again. Derk

A beautiful, place to stay. We drove up from Ubud, having never visited the Ahmed area before. It’s a nice change from the bustle of the more populated regions of Bali.

The villa has a stunning view over the ocean from the charming, breezy little restaurant and magnificent pool (which is sizeable and better than the pictures here).

Our room was clean and the bed very comfortable. It is not kitted out like a hotel room so don’t expect bar fridge and supplies. You can keep your own items in the communal fridge off the restaurant which is perfectly fine and you have 24 hour access to it. It’s like being in a guesthouse really. One perk, is that the water from the taps here is safe to drink. It was a relief to carrying around bottled water.

Staff are so friendly (thank you to Bari and the team). The food we ate there was beautifully prepared and delicious. Maybe not an extensive menu but this is a small operation and what they do, they do well.

You will need a scooter or arrange transport to get around as this villa is about 15 mins out of Ahmed proper. It’s very hilly.

Our master suite was upstairs and the pool access from there down another flight of stairs. Access directly to the beach is down a slope and over rocks so something to consider if you have mobility issues in booking that particular suite. You can snorkel directly off the beach further down the cove though. In all respects our visit was like visiting a friendly family and worth the effort of the long drive.

This was a highlight of our 2 months trip to Bali!

We stayed here for 3 nights in November 2023 and wish we had time to stay longer. It’s truly so peaceful and beautiful that you’ll never want to leave, so don’t overthink it and book it!

Some of the things that made our stay so special:
- The staff!!! Everyone is so welcoming and kind. On the first night of our stay the staff organized a romantic sunset dinner for us made with fresh ingredients from their garden. It was just fantastic!
- The place itself is beautiful with a fantastic infinity pool with a view to the ocean and direct access to the beautiful reef directly in front of the hotel.
- The food was very delicious, especially breakfast!! All the ingredients are fresh and they have a good mix of Indonesian, western dishes and also vegetarian options.

Next time we are in Amed we are definitely staying here!!!

Until next time ❤️

We were pleased with our stay 110%. Hotel is managed by the owner himself who lives right there. Its well maintained and the pool overlook8ng the ocean is just gorgeous. We have been greeted and welcomed so warmly that, seriously we felt like we were visiting our relatives ). The room was big and modern. Perfect views. I could snorkel right from the rocks at the front of the hotel. Our son absolutely loved the fact that there are many animals he could play or observe. A friendly dog, gorgeous cat, ducks, roosters, rabbits and even a cow! Nothing was a problem for the staff. They even did babysitting with our son when my husband went diving and I wanted to go out snorkeling. But what we found the most astonishing is that the owner takes such a good care of his staff. Due to pandemic he managed to get them all occupied by working on construction of new villas at the resort. This is to ensure ALL of them have still income coming and no one loses the job. So by booking this hotel you can be sure, money you spend on accommodation will be used to help locals and local community.
Please don't hesitate. You won't regret! Guaranteed!!!

I can't imagine a better place to stay. Amazing view, quiet and uncrowded and the best hospitality. The staff are amazing and thanks to Barry and Sylvia and the rest of them for making our stay everything that we could want. Can you ever imagine staying in a place in Indonesia where you can actually drink the water from the pool? Yes that is this place. The whole system is fed by a natural underground spring and you can drink literally the water from the tap in the bathroom. And although there are lots of options around for restaurants, the one here is amazing. Make sure to try the duck rendang! They even gave me the recipe to take home.

Dear Guest, It was a pleasure to have you 4 nights with us. Most of the time you spent diving. So I asked: how did you choose your diving school? (There are about 100 in the Amed-Tulamben area). Your answer: I just choosed the one thats the nearest by Villa Bukit Segara. There are 5 at walking distance from the Villa. We were glad to see that you were happy with your stay, our restaurant and "White Sand Divers".

We stayed for four nights at the end of September 2023.
The hotel has a very good looking garden (congrats to the gardeners), and a stunning swimming pool.
We do not often use the pool in hotels and prefer spend time snorkeling, but this one is irresistible.
We booked the Master bedroom, which is huge, with it's own dressing room, it's well furnished, with good AC and ceiling fan and a spectacular view over the sea.
The restaurant is very good too. We enjoyed every meal we took there, which is... every meal of our stay. Simply didn't fell like trying elsewhere.
The owner and the staff are very nice, with good advice, friendly and efficient.

For snorkeling lovers, you can get to the water at high tide in front of the hotel, otherwise from Lupa beach which is less than 10 min walk.

The "Coral Garden" in Lupa beach is very nice. We saw at least 5 beautiful turtles, and many nice corals and fishes. If you swim reasonably well, you can swim to the next beach and come back swimming or walking, you might see beautiful blue montipora corals.

Overall, a delightful experience !

Dear Guest, Thank you for your wonderfull review. Certainly your remarks about snorkeling are of great use for others because you have a lot of experience, also international. We have a paper based o the experiences of our guests with the 7 best locations for snorkeling. And to start in front of our villa and than snorkel to Lipah is cetainly a good option. For others: you can also make a trip with a boat and than visit different spots. For children its better to start at Lipah because there is a sandy beach. Thank you also for the beautiful video that you made of Villa Bukit Segara using a drone.Kind regards, Derk

From what I saw, there was no kids club here but the outdoor pool area would be suitable for children to play in. It is in quite a secluded area which is very calm and tranquil, maybe kids would prefer to stay somewhere a little more lively!
