The nice thing about bo's is the lady who runs the property. Speaks good English and is very warm, welcoming and friendly. It felt like a warm home for the couple of nights I've spend here. Jemeluk beach and other beaches in area are beautiful for snorkeling, with lots of coral and colourful fishes. The bungalows are clean, with flowers on the bed when you arrive, and a comfortable outdoor shower. Staying here is a wonderful choice.
We stayed here for four nights while we did some diving. I was pleasantly surprised with our room for the price we paid. The room was spacious and comfortable with a private bathroom and a lovely view out to the bay which I wasn’t expecting (see picture). There are only three bungalows and even with all of them full it didn’t feel crowded. The facilities are simple - shower is cold, bed is a little hard - but for the price we certainly can’t complain. They provide basic mosquito nets but I didn’t see a lot of mosquitos inside the bungalow. We also had a large fan (no a/c) which we found adequate for the temperature. The host, Wayan, was absolutely delightful. She was very helpful and friendly - helping us book our ferry tickets and also taking us all the way to Warung Enak restaurants 3km away on the back of her scooter, as well as giving me language lessons each day. The banana pancakes were spot on (I even asked for one as a sneaky snack before a night dive and she was more than happy to comply with my 5pm craving!). There’s a hammock and lounging area as an excellent place to relax and read a book or check emails - make sure to take mosquito repellant though. The bungalows are a little out of “town” but the location was good for us - we were here for diving so were picked up each morning by Adventure Divers (highly recommend). And it’s walking distance to some restaurants (Gusto). A lot of restaurants will collect you as well so location is no problem. The only thing I’d highlight are the slippery steps which just need a little water blasting to make them safe. I slipped down the front stairs one evening in the rain in my flip flops - probably not the best shoes! Overall 5 stars for value, comfortable rooms and a friendly host. Thank you for having us!!…
Rooms 3/5 - Large, clean, basic rooms We had a large room, some very old furniture and tiled floors. Simple, yet clean and functional. The bathrooms too were much the same, large, basic and clean. This served us well considering we didn't want something too comfortable that we just stayed in - we had a beautiful town to explore. Facilities 3/5 - Beautiful grounds and a nice view The hotel is situated on an incline surrounded by a lovely, well-kept garden. Breakfast has limited options, but all were tasty and fresh to order. We would usually start the day with some local coffee and banana pancakes (a favourite in Indonesia). Service 4/5 - Happy, helpful staff that made our stay welcoming. Location 4/5 - In the middle of Amed, close to the beach and on a vantage point We loved our location. It was close to local restaurants and a nice little drive on either side to local beaches. We were too lazy to walk to the beach due to the hill and heat. Overall 10/15 Nice little hotel. Does the job and in a lovely area…
We had a great stay at Bo's bungalows. It's very quiet and the staff is very friendly. We were diving in Amed, sometiles we needed to have an early breakfast, which was no problem at all! I was in Bali for 2 weeks and had the best banana pancakes at Bo's! You should try them!!
Stayed here for 2 nights earlier this week. Pro: -Close to Lipah Bay (1km down the hill) -Close to Warung Hoky (a cheap local restaurant with local and western food) -Awesome view (I got the one with straight view to the sea) -wonderful and helpful staff (Bu Wayan) - cheap price for a comfortable room -Yummy simple breakfast is available - Motorbike rental 50k idr/day - Staff is willing to show you around if you ask. Or any kind of local knowledge/insight would be useful for your stay here -provide towels Cons: - there's no hot water - The staff doesn't live there. So you really have to make sure if you come/leave very early or really late to inform them in advance - It's up the hill. So 1km to Lipah Bay is going downhill and when you return is uphill. But rent a bike anyway cause there are more than 1 spot to visit here. - it's with lots of stairs so if you bring heavy suitcase, it'd be a bit difficult-though the ladies would come to assit you with the luggages. -internet is mostly down. You can ask them to restart the router wifi if the staff is around. But when I was there, it still didn't work. But not a big deal to me as the resto nearby provide one. -no soap/shampoo. With this price, you have to bring your own. - open bathroom in the back (no roof for half of the bathroom) so might be wet during rainy season. …
