Very tasteful decorated bungalows and rooms, great atmosphere, yummy and reasonable priced food, great view and friendly staff! The beach is perfect for strolling along to Amed and very suitable for kids. The fish for the restaurant is bought from local fisherman - supporting the local community- and they make their own chocolate! Must try! Recommended!

The eco resort Balila was a wonderful experience. I arrived at night and did not know what to expect. Made welcomed me to the resort and room, and the room was above my expectations. I've stayed in the Jungle room for 3 nights but liked to have stayed longer. The room is spacious, especially for a solo traveler with a...

Very nice place to relax and perfect for our yoga and meditation retreat. Quite time in the morning and in the afternoon we could enjoy the beach life with great snorkelling . The bungalows are very nice, very nice design with private hammok and great ocean view. You can enjoy watching the sunrise directly from your room. Beautiful Thank you!

I stay here every year when I visit Ubud. It's only a few minutes walk to everything and Birgit is a great host. Balila is great value for money and the rooms are clean. Breakfast is good and all the staff are really friendly. If you're looking for an economy option in Ubud, I'd definitely recommend Balila. Birgit's resort in...

Stayed here for 4 nights, splitting my time in two different rooms as I decided to stay longer last minute. I loved both of the rooms - Moon and Hanuman bungalow - with awesome semi-outdoor bathrooms. Great chatting with the awesome host and cleaning ladies in the morning, they were very helpful in recommending places to go and booking trips...

Balila was amazing! The location could not have been better. It is just off the main street and right next to the cultural center. There were many restaurants nearby and it is walking distance from the monkey forest. Brigit and her husband and staff were great and they offer tours and massages to add to your experience. I stayed in...

This slice of paradise is set high on a bluff facing a crescent beach of volcanic sand, under the protection of Agung, Bali's most sacred mountain. it is an enchanting setting unmatched elsewhere on the island. Here you can immerse in the Bali long before the strips of hotels and villas crept along the shorelines. Here time settles into a slower, gentler rhythm unchanged over generations. Balila Beach Eco-Resort is build with recycle wood, comprise a large rain water catching system, grey-water from showers is recycled for the edible garden and the black water is filtered through waste-water gardens for fish ponds or non-edible plants. Solar water heaters, solar-charged reading lamps, organic garbage is composted for the garden and anything that can not be reused goes to a local recycling initiative. The rooms are spacious, naturally cooled and with the best ocean view from the bed. The restaurant serves mainly traditional Balinese food in a fresh and healthy way with a lot of organic produce from the onsite permaculture garden. ... more   less
